I have had the same problem since yesterday afternoon. On a fairly regular basis, whenever I try to use a bookmarked place in my 'people and places' I crash to desktop. Sometimes I get a "The socket has been closed." message. At least I'm not the only one getting this..... ---------- It's always funny until someone gets hurt, and then it's just hilarious. |

Hi,
After last patch, I've had the same problem. Clicking on a bookmark occasionally causes a ctd. Glad to hear I'm not the only one. |

I sent a bug report, but I am still having the problem. In fact this morning I crashed 3 times in a row, and once I got a "Something terrible has happened and the socket has been closed." I'm not sure if CCP is getting a sense of humor (the error used to just say "The socket has been closed.") but I am not amused.

Ive been getting the same trouble. I found if i delete everything in the cache directory (short of the prefs.ini and settings folder) it seems to clear up the problem. At least for a little while.

Use the new Full Install and try again. Have had the same Probs but no longer. There was 3 hard Days till i solved the Prob but nothig inlusive new instal of original and newest patch plus stuff files work. Only the new Full Install.
rename your old folder to CCP1 and install the new full. If it is not better then delete the new and rename the old back. You have only to spend some time for the download but you can win a stable and performant Client.
Have Fun

I did a complete re-install (actually wiped the machine, re-installed windows, then re-installed EVE). Cleared up the bookmark problem for about a day then its right back again.
