Many veteran players - such as myself (yes this is an alt) - have come to find that CCP are including more and more time sinks into eve which in all honesty, it doesn't need.
CCP have introduced huge logistic needs due to POS wars and have without doubt made it so that alliances almost need as many people working on logistics as they do with defense of their space, i hope this is not intended, but it is how it is as the moment unfortunately.
There issues at the moment which are getting annoying due to the fact they take too much time to accomplish anything, now please don't chastise me because you feel loyalty to your logistic groups, im pretty sure that they would love nothing more than to have it easier on them.
So, the few changes i would like to see in eve is this:-
1. Introduce POS and planet sovereignty system. Sov claim should be changed to POS at planets and not at moons, ofcorse moons hold minerals and it would be a huge job for CCP to move these around into planets, so my proposal is to introduce new POS's that are specifically made for combat, and other POS's which are specifically made for moon mining.
2. Reduce station service HP by 90% but put 90% resists on them, in turn this gives the home team the advantage since it would take a much smaller amount of time to repair the station services as it would to destroy them.
Few changes i admit, there are others i would like introduced but need to be thought through more before i post them...
Please discuss...

Problem with POS' isn't really the investment, sure I'd like nothing more than for them to go back to the price level they were before the great hike but given what we have what's needed is to make the maintainance less mindnumbing and the POS prettier. Right now everyone is in agreement, the POS looks like crap and isn't collecting any goodwill/added enthusiasm amongst the poor fools still interested in the sheer boredom of running one, or 50.

I totally agree that the problem isn't the POS cost, its the sheer amount of logistics needed to keep your alliances sov intact.
CCP really need to remove some of the time sinks in favor of what this game should be about, which is PVP.

Last time I know of anyone trying to build an empire without logistics was the mongols. it didnt go too good.
Learn from the history, use logistics if you want an empire.

for that to be true you need a more diverse interpretationof the word pvp than i think you are using. and then the logistics part would be pvp, and as such, what this game is all about.
if you dont like empirebuilding and only want pewpew, there is the entire lowsec and some parts of 0.0 for you

Well, i'd be rather bored without timesinks. Kinda like watching a movie with only the action bits in it.
Matrix, 5 minutes...i ain't paying 7 bucks for that
So yeah, i have a problem with being serious, but it's the almost smallest problem i have. |

awww, diddums... did someone break your services?
i've recently been on the giving end of that particular transaction... and the 2 hours spent pounding were fully repaid by the 12 hours or more of repping for the poor suckers we hit....
it works as intended... it's meant to be an inconvenience... if you could rep it in an hour would anyone bother to take it out?
people just need to stop crying all the time... just because you label it a "time sink", don't try to pretend you're not another petty little "nerf this" kid....

CCP wants alliances to hold LESS space not more, your changes woudl just make easier to hold more.
CCP make the game to need huge logistics exactly so that its hard to get HUGE empires. THis policy is so that small aliiances have space to live. But even so its not enough.
If brute force doesn't solve your problem... you are not using enough |

Theres one good thing about the having this timesink. Timesink increses the need for role delegation in an alliance, meaning that it's pretty hard for an small core to control all aspect of an alliance, when more pople can make PoS'es goes offline and disgrundled peons and spies becomes a bigger issue.
Since PoSes are linked to sovereignty and especially now with the new toys for holding ir it should not be a matter of just pouring isk into it once and then forget.
Take a look at the auto generated map and the political map of eve, you see "pet" alliances controling some space thats under one of the mega empires rule, that allows for some different politics in that if pets revolt they will take most of the pasive defence with them.
