So i was doing The Assault mission yesterday(Guristas).
Got to last pocket, killed one pack with ease, going to second one. Killed one BS killed second, all the time i had NOS on other BS and they did like 70dmg so i turned on shield boster every few min for few cycles just to get shield to 100% Than when i was left with 3 BS i couldnt start shiled it was saying i dont have enough cap ?!lol Cap was 2900/3400 and still filling up, so i turn off all missiles and NOS was sucking that BS ... cap got to 99% and i still cant turn shield boster on !wtf?! I hit warp to station, but forgot to kill jamming frigs Shield was at 25% ... tried to kill those BShips but than came armor and hull and pod
I petitioned this crap and they have nothing in their logs great
Raven was 6x Arbalest with rest T2 and 3xCCC (spent all my money on it 2 days ago (so it wasnt insured ))
So im wondering why the hell did this happened ? is that desync or what is it ? i dont get it how could it happen
PS:im broke now plx gief mony!!!11

I get a similar kind of de-sync all the time where I am right next to a can but the tractor beam still says "you can't tractor this unless you are within 20000 meters".
Not that this helps much get your ship back, but something is still going on with client desyncs --

Find your combat log. Look what there is in it, it should have "you can't activate the module ecc." Zip it, escalate the petition and add the log.

Not that I don't sympathize with a desync victim, but the real reason you lost your ship was not the desync but

Always kill the scrambling frigs first. I haven't encountered any missions yet where it made the mission harder. If I cannot instapop them at long range, my Tech II light drones take care of them pretty fast.
Also, always insure your ships. If it means running another 20 level 3 missions to pay for the platinum insurance, it's worth it. I usually won't undock anything larger than a shuttle unless it's insured (and half the time I insure those). ------------

I used to have that bug a lot, where the cap indicator on the screen was showing a healthy amount and suddenly all my actives started shutting down. Since I installed Clockmon this has all but stopped happening, only on very rare occassions does it still occure, like when the server is about to crash.

As I have 4 mission running hot spots with mutlible battleships each insuring them all is just a waste of money ... If you know what you are doing, you will loose a ship only in instances which are your own stupidity or bugs that will warrant a reimburement.

I can afford to lose, but ignoring it and going with "fly only what you can afford to lose" wont make desync go away. CCP has to fix it .

Guristas Extravaganza? Where the scramblers are the spawn triggers. This is much harder if you just kill scrambing frigates first.

Those frigates dont scramble.
But a corpmate had that with the shields on his drakes. They were showing stable at 70% and than he popped -- he got his drake back.

They certainly used too, although I have to be honest they haven't scrambled me recently. The NPC databases seem to suggest they do still scramble though, link.

you insure shuttles? WTF ----------- Support fixing the EVE UI Drones should not aggro anything missiles or turrets do not. |

That's with Platinum insurance. I found a shuttle that I insured when I was very new to the game. The insurance contract was almost expired. So, I took it on Cargo Delivery. Shuttles don't tank very well.
As for killing the frigates first, someone said they do in GE. I never have that mission because I only run missions for the freedom-loving factions. ------------

Kill the towers first in the first four rooms. No respawns.

Mission was nowhere near motsu or saila or jita, and i have no intention in doing missions there. And there was like 5 ppl in local at that moment so i wouldnt say it was a very crowded system.

pretty much same thing happened to me the other day and i didnt get my raven back except instead of seeing my raven get killed eve crashed to desktop so i logged in only to be in a pod --------------------------------------------- no sig for you !!!

Um.. missiles don't use cap, and when lag happens it'll spam you with hits, but it spams them back with your missiles. You should have kept your missiles going.

Read the messages from the log, this is happening alot lately. I ran away from Motsu, but it still has that issue where it says "Module is being activated, please wait", I've had it lag as much as 30 seconds...

Well, I'd suggest you sell some of your loot you have laying around :O
This is like the #1 reason you get a permatank, so this doesn't happen. And like other posters said, once you have aggro, kill scramblers with drones, or pick them off after pop'ing all the easy-hit cruisers.

i remember warping into a level 3 with a drake, lagging for a moment, and warping out in armor before i could even lock something to shoot at it.
wtf? i can usually launch drones and shoot one thing and go afk and come back to a finished mission?!?!?!?!
some of my modules randomly went off line, in between 2 missions. (think it was just the hardeners, but i would think the drake would last a bit longer than that)
docked in a station, right click, online.... go back and no problem

Leave Caldari Space, Anything on the Jita Cluster gets lagged. Come down to Amarr space hardily anyone there, and it's lag free.

Just because its a good idea to kill scram frigs first, does not mean this is why he lost his ship. Sounds like if the game was working as it should have, he could have boosted the low amount of dmg hitting him easily. Failure on his booster is what caused his ship to blow up. Trying to claim that that was not the cause is pure fantasy.
I suppose it could still be a good lesson to play as if the game may not work as intended.

I've had the same thing, usually docking will sort it out or you need to relog. It's annoying loosing a ship like that!

Just a few days ago I had a booster malfunction too, in that I was unable to turn it off, and since I prefer gank over tank and thus am not fitted for permarun, it drained my cap pretty quickly. But since I DID kill the scramble frigs first, I could warp out no problem.
So yes, not killing them first IS the main part of the reason he died. Either that, or him being gullible enough to expect the game to always work as intended
