Is there anyway to turn that off? The rest of the sound doesnt bother me and you can turn the music fader down. But you cant turn that damn warp sound down without turning all the sound off >.<

Take a hammer to your speakers and it usually turns off the warping sound.

Why would you want to turn off that f-18, afterburner on, soaring through the sky, delicious cake of harmony?
So yeah, i have a problem with being serious, but it's the almost smallest problem i have. |

After reading a few posts i found out the answer but am yet to try it. You need to find a program that will unpack the .stuff files. Then edit the warpsound to whatever you like. I believe deleting the file will just create an error so you'll have to just replace it with a blank sound file. Will let you know if it works :)

Isn't that a modification of the EVE client and therefore a EULA violation?
--- This is a war declaration, issued from your alt corp. It is used to gank people in high sec. |

Well, perhaps CCP should have fixed the warp sound like... 6-7 months when it started being insanely loud?
it's a really sad thing that 90% of the eve-playerbase plays with the sound OFF! and yes, i am jsut throwing random statistics out with no source.

Surely stopping a horrific noise coming through you speakers and into your own ears on your OWN computer cant be against an EULA..
I guess thats more there for people who try hacking and copying their files to use on another game.

6-7 months?!?! longer than that mate, much longer. From the few times I've actually had sound on in Eve, I would say it's always been like that since I started back in January '05... -

imho CCP dropped the ball when it comes to sound.
The jump sound is irritating.
Some of the other sounds are nice but they seem too loud.
The voice chick sounds depressed.
/sound = off

Edited by: KtB on 11/08/2007 18:11:55 Agreed cypher. Im pretty sure most people do play without sound, which is pretty sad really :(.
Come on ccp, give us more option over our sound. Explosions = cool. Warp noises and wind are not.
Again in my opinion. And the client is customisable in the graphic sense, so why isnt it in the audio sense.
In fact i'm taking this thread to development forum and see what ccp have to say

One of the annoying things in Eve that should of been fixed by now. Hopefully RevIII will bring a new UI and revamped sound.

What is so bad about the warp sound anyway? I have heard a lot of people say they hate it but it has never bothered me.
I agree though that it could be improved as well as a lot of the other sounds.

Same here... But last I remember, it didn't sound too good.
Besides, I have a feeling that the op hasn't crashed due to his sound being enabled yet.

Not only that, but stuff extraction and replacement via normal folders does not work in eve anymore, and thus you cannot replace sounds, models etc.
So basically, you're legally and physically screwed

If it's the case of ccp saying. NO you have to listen to OUR sounds on YOUR computer if you want sound! Then thats pretty pathetic.. ****?
They give you a method to turn off the sound, modification of any of the files within the .stuff files IS against the EULA regardless of what particular file it is so either live with it or nuke the sound :) ---------

Sure thing, I want to sleep when I play with sound and sleep effect becomes stronger when you turn on music. Also woman's sleepy voice triples sleep effect. __________________________________________________

When I started playing eve, the warp sound was "broken" and I had no idea. Then they "fixed it" to this f18 afterburner garbage.
It was way better to have a silent thing that went ".......pooooh..." when you hit max warp speed.
