As a Dev, you have to choose: OpenGl OR DirectX. You cant switch between them just because you feel like it, when you chose to use Dx, youll have to stick with it or rewrite the entire renderingpath..You can of course try to use a wrapper, that translates from Dx to OpenGl, like Wine does..
Id love to see an Eve in OpenGl too, as you could play on Mac, Linux and Windows and anywhere else with few alterations to the Engine itself (just has to be x86/x64), but CCP chose Dx, so they will stick to it. I dont think they want to rewrite their game again..

Full /ack, Tzrailasa, BUT:
How?
I have no idea HOW to achieve that. Seriously, i had many nights of thinking of a good idea how to get people not to Blob. AOE-Weapons would be a way, but to counter a blob, you probably have to fly into the grid. And get lagged to death. The Problem of Stealthbombers is, that they die of lag, before they can counter lag..
In order to fight Blobs, lag has to go away. But lag wont go away because of blobs..
You would have to remove all stargates and make all systems merge into each other seamlessly, so you cant blob a gate and prohibit all enemy movements. Oh, and that whole gridthing has to go..
Or let the client load the whole grid, before he is spawned there. Problem: If you gangwarp, you want to arrive where you warped together. Not one by one..
Same for gates: spawn clients only when they give you the "ok, loaded grid"-packet. Could be abused of course.. Same problem as with warping: if a gang jumps in and gets lagged out, they probably dont want to wait 5 minutes until the last member really arrives in system...
problems over problems, and no good solutions..

btw. regarding your corp, Tzrailasa: We even had goonswarm-members saying something productive here. and people *****ing about your corp/alliance/favourite beer can and should be ignored.. ;)
Maybe CCP could invite us into irc for some nice brainstorming regarding anti-blob-tactics...
(hehe, if i remove one letter of "anti-blob-tactics"..oh, nvm :P )

So you accuse each other of whining to achieve...what?
Lets face it: We DO have the weapons to counter Blobs. Yes, we do.
The only problem is the one that was pointed out before: By blobbing up you can prevent fights from happening. You are definitly right that stealthbombers are not of any use as bombers, but not because of a lack of efficiency of their bombs..they simply die before they even arrive, before they can load the grid.
