I've watched about 5 episodes from start and I think EVE TV is a disgrace:
1. The topics could do so much better. No more dull interviews with unemployed, overwight middle ages players. Why not regular PvP teaching topics every week. For example, 'NOS, how to use it', with an ingame 1 vs 1 battle to go along with it. 'Next week all about RSD', etc ect. Or what about getting into certain much used setups or real weird setups if you like. Don't just talk about 'Caldari Sleipnir's' without every discussing its setup. We all know its a BC and is 'a much feared ship' c'mon! Or include more specific tips and tricks from the pro's, like how to survive in 0.0 space solo, how to mine efficiently, indept review on manufacturing. BE MORE CREATIVE FFS!
2. The interviews...MAN! None of the participants knows what to say, if they do, you can't make anything out of it really (I am not native English speaking). Especially the male interviewer is always mumbling, impossible to listen too. HOW ABOUT SOME AR-TIC-U-LA-TION !!!??
3. If you refrain from putting ANY quality in your shows, at least make it free of charge. And CCP, I,m telling you, these guys running EVE TV are wrecking your good reputation.
Ah, sry, but I had to get this off my chest...

You're telling EVETV to be more creative when your own criticism can't manage it? I don't think the producers should take advice from someone as rude or stigmatic as you are.

As for point 3, it's effectively free and I can't imagine someone actually paying for it.

Indeed. I imagine Xen's articulate banter and witty comebacks would be the talk of the internet. Please mail me at [email protected] to see if we can arrange you as a guest, or if not, at least a Skype interview. _

ThatĘs what I call getting called out ... Xen, you asked for it man; Get your arse up there if you think it can be better. I think its a pretty solid show and provides strong, nearly up to the week current events. You dont see that with other MMORPG's, purely cause of the multiple server issues, limited audience that would watch content about another server etc...
EVE's unique situation with a single server provides the ability to run a show like this (getting into the politics of the game). What separates this show from any review / how to play show is the in game interview/player commentary. The concept is breakthrough and I applaud their efforts taking in the suggestions from the player base to adjust the show from week to week.
A show like this is harder than most think... keeping everyone i.e writers, the talent (announcers), production crew, producer on the same page, based on a conceptually translation of what they all think the director wants... on top of the research, editing and production that takes ample time before pre/post date showing. Luckily for us, the show makes subtle adjustments based on feedback from us, which is a huge bonus for the community.
The current events, corp/alliance profiles and special guest are what i personally tune in for and find it a great addition to my gaming experience. Keep up the good work!

I'm sort of half and half here...
I watched 2 episodes of it and thought it was OK, it wasn't as good as it could be, but everything has it's growing pains (so to speak).
As it is now, I can't say that I'd be willing to pay for it, but Xen is right with some suggestions. It needs more tips and tricks, nothing that would spoil the game, but maybe a continuation of the player guides (on this site), like for example, a guide to mining AFTER you get out of high sec belts.
Another thing is maybe interviews with EVE podcast or radio hosts?
Anway, Xen hush, EVETV peoples, stick at it!

Ships and setups are a matter of oppinnion. What is 'best' to fit varies depending on who you speak to, and the very nature of eve really means that there isn't really a 'best' anything. Somtimes its better to stick to the general stuff rather than be specific on matters of oppinion and preferance.
I'm enjoying Eve-TV so far, as people have said the quality has increased so much over the weeks and the team really do listen to the constructive criticism given by their audiance. -----

I've read this post 5 times from start and i think this flame is a Disgrace!
1. Plz get your facts right before making a post that we have to pay our well earned time to read!
2. Plz dont flame great unique and insightfull work when u dont even know what race a sleipnir is!
3. Eve TV is actually pretty cheap with all things conciddered. With all the committed time and effort that goes into EVETV, you cant expect it to be free. ok its not without its flaws but its young, growing and getting better. it reaally doesnt cost that much.
If you still need to whine.. dont. instead, go out and make an alternate show yourself, make it free and on time weekly, and maybe then we will have the luxury of learning how to setup our "CALDARI SLEIPNIR'S". Basically, Think its crap? make something better and stop whining.
to EVETV lot, your doing a great job, keep it up! I look forward to seeing future episodes!

Tom, that would be fine if you'd only reply to your mail. I'm still waiting to hear if you're coming to film the Scottish Player Gathering after a couple of email exchanges with Xyliana about a month ago. All other attempts to contact her have failed to attract a response. Perhaps she's ill or on holiday or otherwise indisposed. It's in a few days time, I will email you to see if you can provide an answer.
Sorry to hijack the thread. Carry on.

AWESOME! EVE TV is awesome. More ingame action...no need to see ALL the action....what you had up was excellent. an extremely brave comentator or narrator is what you need. The trouble will be trying to not do it in a soccer voice... And..this... ITS YOUR SHOW...YOU HAVE THE POWER. DO IT YOUR WAY....not like a news broadcast. Awesome...Awesome..Awesome. I'm a bad bad fan for not knowing her name but the blonde is even more awesome. heres an idea...webcam interviews just patching in the video. (do a couple of trial runs) I have been folowing this genre since ELITE on my AMSTRAD 128KB when i was a tyke. Frontier was my favorite game on my AMIGA500

Edited by: Phrixus Zephyr on 28/08/2007 13:45:00 It might be over the top nerd rage whine, but he's not wrong. At least about the content. (TBH the fact the show is where it is, is an acheivement in itself)
I've seen the latest episode and i know it might be nerve racking for everyone but seriously, it was cringeworthy, take a couple of takes. Even youtube videos have more quality control. There is no sense in not getting it near perfect if people are going to be streaming it after the fact.
Secondly the subject matter was dull. Mexallon prices? Who cares? Unless its "Mexallon is up, people are cashing in" we dont really want to hear a 2 minute ramble. You spent far to long just covering the basic minerals. Cover T2 prices, or more speculation on market changes after the patch, or how invention is effecting things, or something on trading... anything.
The questions and monologues need work too. Most of them were too generalized. There wasn't really that much information from anywhere in the show. If you have an 'expert' in studio ask them proper questions, be specific. There is no point having them there if you don't get an opinion from them.
