I left for 2 months, came back because of everyone screaming about how Tech II was gonna be the panacea. I was fooled into not only coming back, but starting another account... I just cancelled both. Unless the game dramatically improves before Feb 24th, I think I may be gone for good this time... "Trust No One"

I don't mind the whiners as such, after all it's not uncommon on the internet, but it does grate on me when they mistake their own experiences for the experiences of the majority. All in all, we are the game. Eve is just a framework in which to play but some people just don't seem to see things the way I do. IMO the whining reveals more about the whiners than anything else.

I have been here for 9 months and I still think it is a fantastic game that gives me excitement, challenges and stunningly beautifull gfx. Its not like it's a flawless game - it's just that it is the best there is... Simple as that. I have tried PvP, Trading, R&D, Agent-running, all aspects of the game except extensive mining, and I find it most fulfilling. I have experienced the extreme lag of the pre-castor fleet battles, and I have been catering to obnoxious agents for 6 months in all and never recieved an implant - but I can live with that, 'cause there is so much else to enjoy. And true enough, a happy player like me wouldn't get up and write - but you **** me off, dwarf! You are a waste of CCP processor time and bandwith, so take your whiny subscriptions and your nagging money and disappear. Kutt	Posted - 2004.02.03 21:31:00 - [35] The reason why I love EVE is that it seems to be striving for player freedom with the controls in place of repercussions. This to me is the "Holy Grail" of content. This is the engine that drives perceived meaningful interactions with in the game. I get much more personal satisfaction from getting even with a player that I perceive as an enemy than I ever could doing a dev created quest. I enjoy helping out a new corp member much more than delivering 5 units of blah to the planet blah blah to help agent blah blah blah. The only thing I want from devs is... 1. Communication 2. Game world stability on the client and the server. 2. Expand the playground by allowing more actions, and creating more interesting decisions for the player to make. 3. Level the playing field. If a player chooses to be a villain, allow it. Just give me the ability to take action against them. All of the other stuff beyond that to me gets to be an issue for personal taste. I have seen a lot of posts that claim to represent the community saying that we are desperate for Tech II, more story line, and more expensive items. All of these are nice little additions, but will grow stale the day after implementation. Once content is commonplace it loses most of its value. The purpose of content in an MMORPG is to give context, and not the reason to play. There are single player games that can do a much better job of this. EVE is on the right track. I hope they continue to make steady progress.

The gfx wow factor lasted about 1 week for me... Like I said, subscription games need to be held to a higher standard. If you get your jollies from jerking off to the EVE gfx after 9 months, good for you... The game is severly lacking in many categories, many players feel this way, not just me... Good for all of you that think EVE is so fantastic, I'm happy for you... Really, I am... "Trust No One"

I'm busy and happy enough playing EVE that I dont need the forums forums for anything other than technical support. Those who want more out of EVE will always be dispointed comming here trying to find it. EVE has enough to keep any sane mind occupied. IF you're lacking content, then you should get into a Corp that works the way you want, either mining, fighting, exploring, building etc. Thats where the real content is. Player interaction. Nothing the DEV team can do will ever give more realism or content than actually player interaction. So those who feel let down should look harder for player interaction, because otherwise they will never be satisfied. Fly Safe. M -x-

I think the game is still awsome and there are things I run across that still surprise me to this day, POI's and such. One lesson I did learn after release is the more I tried to rush somthing, the more frustrated I got. Now, I just kick back and go with the flow and very much enjoy the game. I have not traded in a while, but the speed nerfs on indy's has made travel unbearable for me, I don't think I could do it for more than a few hours b4 I would puke. Besides, I got caught up in the whole research thing, because that is what my character was initially created for. Agent missions have about bored the **** outta me, and my RA has asked me for nearly 1000 homeless. Sorry, but that ain't fun either... I would like the items on the market to actually mean something, not just there as piles of crap to transfer from station to another for small profit while actually being in danger from the weak assed gate NPC's because you're indy is nerfed all to hell... I've done everything in this game except PvP, nothing gives me satisfaction or sense of accomplishment... I view PvP as too costly, I'm a loner, so recouping my loses from fighting is about the last thing I want to get into... "Trust No One"
