Thanks

lol yet another ploy ( lie ) those as well as player owned stations where promised to be part of the initial release ( amongst a whole slew of other things ) made 1000 promises fulfilled 10 and out of those 10 not 1 is fully implimented nor are most even availible to players... man this sounds like people are paying to Beta Test the game... just be lucky they are not in the USA they would have sooo many lawsuites aginst them right now
just ask me and ill list them in detail ( according to US import/export and buisness laws, and not to mention the new internet laws ) but keep in mind it will take many many posts :/

I notice the description of the Caldari titan states that it is very much smaller than other titans.
That means it will be the slowest and most massive, btw. ------

That looks to be a megathron with a replaced model of a titan.
Also..
According to the Backstory of eve the Amarr actually do have two titans per say. The one shown is one of the two imperial titans that the Amarr had in their fleet. The second one was stolen by Khanid II when he refused to commit ritual suicide for the last succession for the hier of Amarr. The full story about it is located here. If we will ever see it in-game or be able to fly such a beast, who knows.

Look people, Titans are not coming anytime soon. When they do finally arrive, they will cost so much that no of us will ever be flying one.

You have no clue how rich some people are. I know people that own BILLIONS! I am sure Titans will be flying around shortly after they are in. We thought same about battleships and now everyone has a whole set of BS to choose from.

Titans are only affordable by ENTIRE empires !
I would put the cost in the Trillions of isk. At a minimum.

I do not believe that money is a factor in aquiring titans.
I believe that a long series of scenarios and stuff like that have to occur for a corporation, (i.e. own stations, blueprints, skills, and other stuff) before they even get a chance to begin assembling the parts for the construction platforms to construct the titans.. It'll be hell to do this alone, propably impossible..

If titans are uber industrials they'll certainly be popular for mining ops but also at the time, a huge target and very vulnerable.
IMO this is what Titans should be. They should also have neat abilities, like jumpdrives and stuff. They should be motherships, flagships, not super powerful, but just useful, and perhaps the center of fleets.
Of course people said battleships would be the center of fleets and obviously battleships are quite common, so common in fact most dedicated players own several.
We'll see.. ------

Most players do not own several BS. Only the few who began the game early.

Well somebody must, because I keep flying past them all the time in empire space - and they are just the tip of the iceberg. Plus, look at the price developments against say 6 months ago - BIG difference. These things are almost affordable now. Time to get me a shiny new MegaT

Not to mention that Caldari are supposed to be the long range guys and Gallente the close range folks (just look at their ship bonueses) yet the Caldari Titan is the one fitted for close range combat.
I wonder if the people at CCP ever read the race descriptions and backstory for EVE.

Yea im only a couple months old (almost 3 months) and I own 5 BS's. There not hard to get at all if you know how to do things and where to get items. And these ships where build personally though a BPC not buying off market. Well except one I should say was lazy. Fear The Bunny

You are kidding yourself. The newest player in our corp has 5 Battleships and he has been playing less than 2 months. How? Try ninja mining in an imicus for crokite during a zyd shortage. then finding hidden belts with shuttles and taking a thorax there. 1 week later... he is the second richest player in our corp. I know quite a few stories like this.
All our corp members but 2 Have 1 to 5 battleships and we don't even have 20 members nor do we have corporate funded ships. Battleships are a dime a dozen... if you got the week of mining smart... BSs are not hard to achieve.

Edited by: Ganja on 04/02/2004 21:21:59 Regardless of what you think - a single person will NOT own a titan, not unless they rip it off someone.
The production costs for a titan will be outragious - as the should be. These ships are bigger then stations (atleast the Amarr one is, haven't seen the Caldari for myself).
Once titans are out, they will be massive targets. Titans aren't Deathstar's - They aren't meant for combat. Yes yes, they have 8/8/8 slots, and by then, yes, Tech V weapons will be out. I can't say what kind of battleships will be out by the time Titans come out, as Titans will be in a class of their own - Not Tech IV/V. But using the current standards, it will only take 3-4 Scorpions, and about 10 Power Ships (they are big - and have big shield/armor/structure) to take it down swiftly before reinforcement is able to come and scoot away the attackers.
People will be extremely powerful - and a Titan can't live on its own. Titans will have to be constantly guarded - that is if they continue their plan to make them UNABLE to dock (currently it looks funny as hell to have a titan docked).
Who cares about Titans? We have elite frigates, elite cruisers, battlecruisers, etc. Take-over stations are coming in, then buildable stations. Along side will be Warp Inhibitors, Ore Compactors, Mobile Storage Facilities, Field Generators, Missile Launchers, silo's, etc.
Look here: http://ganja.voogru.com/images/Titans/
How neat is this?

I think most people view titans as giant battle ships. Which isn't true. I wouldn't want to fly one.
They're more like mobile stations. You'd be an idiot to put one within targeting range in a battle.

if you don't wake up, i'll have to stop kissing you. all that flailing has made you sleepy. you rest while i untie you. stay here until they find you. My hand made mannequin. i won't let them get you. they'll know you're mine by the fingerprints on your throat. isn't she lovely? isn't she wonderful? like the *****s that we are, swatting flies from the wounds we design. |

"Titans turn the tides of war with their mere presence"
I found that quote here
So I would suggest that they ARE in fact uber-BS.
On the other hand you need to mine planets to make them!

And since they'll have to be built in vulnerable phased assembler arrays, it'd be pretty hard to even build one without your rivals moving in and wrecking it in the womb.

personnaly I want to use myself... though i acknowledge that they are a long way away.. but we don't know what ccp might put in this game to make them more attainable. as for use, i'm just looking forward to expanding one of those out and parking it a distant roid belt in 0.0 where my corp mates can fill me up with ark, mercoxite and maybe if i have time bistot... with jumpdrives, being able to jump past blockades since they can't use jumpgates..
