i have been all over the web reading on how to find the "intact" items you need to build these things. but guess what i have never found one. i have killed rats in .3 space and salvaged them and still nothing. i here you can get the parts from rats, but i have yet to find a rat big enough. or maybe my set up is all wrong. so if someone could tell me what space they found them in or what mission. and what your skill lvl is.
I have been using a destroyer with lvl 5 in salvage and 3 salvage rigs so my percentage is 55% of success.
there has to be someplace other then from PVP tech II ships to find these parts. any advice would be great

Why? EVE is a PvP game.

Officer spawns is the only other option.
But you have no god-given right to T2 rig parts.

Edited by: D1GGER DAN on 14/08/2007 22:25:30 well so far the help has not been much. and for some reason i should not be allowed the parts.
i do understand that eve is pvp and that it is a blast to get my ship blown apart.
i really wanted to hear how others have there ship set up when they DO salvage the intact parts.
just to make sure i am set up right. so one day i can get the parts if i get lucky enough to pop the other guy first

You can find a handfull in magnetometric exploration sites but the we are only talking 2-3 rigs per site. ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |

No, it does not HAVE to be an officer spawn. Faction spawns also yield t2 rig parts, however they have been nerfed. It used to be that you would almost always get t2 rig parts from a faction spawn. But from my recent experience I would say that you have a one in six chance or so of getting t2 salvage from faction spawns, stupid silent nerf in salvage tables.
It's really not THAT hard to find t2 player ship wrecks. Just equip or carry a salvager all the time and you will see wrecks on gates or in belts etc. Most combat pilots don't bother to salvage.

Ok
so i have heard more then once that you can find them in high sec. i have flown and salvaged many pirates in belts in high sec. could you tell me which ones do actually drop the parts. most of the rats are frigs and they seem to drop very little. also what is your success %?
thanks

Digger ...when they say "highsec pirates", you can equate that to highsec PLAYER pirates.
NPC pirates are called "rats".

in high sec you can get them off t2 ships, ie, interceptors, assault frigates, commandships etc. if a wreck says "elite ..... wreck" then it was a t2 ship. ie, "elite caldari cruiser wreck".
edit, oh i see, you were asking which rat spawns in high sec, you want faction ones, ie in caldari space the "dread guristas" rats
