EVERYONE hates around 1/3 the caldari ships - we just can't agree on which ones we hate. Personally i thknk the raven is way under-polygoned, the drake was designed in 2d, and the moa and blackbird ALMOST looked fantastic, but fell short, and fell hard. Kestrel, Merlin, Scorpion, Ferox and Cormorant are some of my favorite ships in the game...
Caldari are industrial, and to the point, but for sake of pete, put some more DETAIL into them, and don't just make abstract flat panel designs...
I could not agree more with every single point you've made here.
Also, I have to say that I think Amarr have the best-looking battleships in the game. They totally nail the "intimidating and awesome warship" look. The raven on the other hand, is a fisher-price toy, and the hyperion looks as though it's been halfway squeezed out a sphincter, then mirrored.

Barring the ugliest ship in eve (only more ugly then the other caldari ones because its the one I see the most)

3. Random cladari ship C
Really doesnt matter theyre all pretty ugly. All the caldari need are a bit of symetry and theyed be some of the best looking ships in eve. Right now they just look like the runt birds that will die within a month becuase they can't make flight.
The minmatar ships dont look too bad because they look like they should like i can see a design reason for it. But the caldari ships defy logic.

I don't think symmetry is necessarily the answer. I don't mind asymmetry at all. I think certain ships just need a little more detail, less flat faces, and perhaps some more detailed textures. The guy I quoted in my last post said it pretty well.
Also, I don't know where all these Ferox haters in this thread came from. That is definitely one of my favourites in the game.

btw i dislike most of the amarr smaller ships, even tho their Battleships, especially the Apoc hull looks extremely hawt!
minmatar ships being the old cars etc is true too. thats why i love them i guess.
dominix... well i wouldnt call it ugly. but there's something wrong with it.
tbh, almost all Eve ships look weird compared to other movies and games. its a unique style, but sometimes i get the feeling im not sitting in a spaceship but in some weird "whatever" thing floating thru space

the breach is looking like pirate ship with sails and a massive missle launching ramp on the front while the*****pit remains under the ramp avoiding the jet of the missle hitting the pilots sight. imo this ship is looking awsome!!!

most larger minmatar ships up close look kind of trashy. The frilly stuff looks cool when you zoom out, but up close it just looks like a bunch of rusty pipes with trash glued to it. Typhoon looks like a floating junkyard, aka USS Sanford & Son "Ya big dummy!". Naglfar looks like a corner busted off of a larger structure, with the girders and wires sticking out of the back.
It seems like the devs tried to stay far far away from your stereotypical spaceship designs, which makes for some funny looking ships. But that's not a bad thing, in my opinion.
I heard from someone in-game that CCP is planning a big upgrade to ship and station graphics.

While I'm not offended by the looks of any of the EVE ships, I find myself wondering what it would be like if the Exequror ever had to actually land (for maintenance, or whatever).

I would fly them alot if they werent so damn ugly...  Good ships, but i must fly something i think look cool, or i will get bored and just quit the game.
I have even stopped ratting in a Raven... Just cant stand the boring looks on that ship any more. Using a Rokh now instead, although its not as effective i can now play the game when i have non-EVE friends at home without them laughing...
CCP, plz give us new models for those three ships.
They look so outdated and boring.
And no, new textures wont do it. Sorry.
Also, i dont fly Minmatar... Most of their ships looks like a bad joke. But i dont care.

the ferox isnt ugly...
imho the ferox is one of the best looking caldari ships in the game (well.. before the drake came out).
Ugly awards fly out to:
dominix (you must be really sick to love space whales and this color!)
moa (space chickens?)
skythe (reminds me of a space pope mobil...)

I like most Caldari Ships, the hard industrial look after all with no friction why does anything need to be streamlined

but only after a year of playing the game did I get into a Bantam... and then got out of it... and then blew it up
