im looking at making a hauler char but dont know the best race to go and the start up set up for the best skills to start with can someone help me out on this

I went minmatar with one recently, took about 10 days or so to get it to min indy 4 and hull upgrades 2... So now i can haul around 12k or whatever.
Prob better to go gallente and get an itty 4 or so.
Basically find the race that has the best # of low slots on their haulers (for expanders) with the least level of that race's industrial skill.
Caldari for instance are nearly the worst i think, with only 3 low slots on their highest t1 hauler.

I just checked and with minnie indy 4 you get 4 low slots on the mammoth which is better than the gallente iteron4. and at 5625m3 base its the better there as well.

If you only plan to go with industrial ships and will skill it to level 5, gallente is the way to go. The Itty V has the highest capacity with full expanders and rigs, but requires gallente indy 5.
Otherwise I believe the bestower is the highest.
Caldari has the highest capacity freighter sized ship.
Hull Upgrades 2 - for expanded cargo
Jury Rigging 3 - prereq for rigs
Astronautics Rigging 1 - for cargo rigs
Evasive Maneuvering - ship agility
Spaceship Command - ship agility
That's a good start for you I think.

Yes, I am quite ashamed to fly around in a Gallente hauler, but the truth is that my race, exceedingly strange as that is, has failed to produce a hauler that is competetive with the Iteron MkV.

don't know about you but I got a pretty decent and fast amarr hauler, with a Bestower and 2 expanded cargo 1, and industrial 2. I get +7000m3, sure it's not an iteron, but I wasted like 2 days training him.
