Looking at the chat channels we all see players coming on begging for money to buy a new ship. I would like to have the ability to give a secured loan to these players if i had the isk they needed. Lets say theres a 5% interest rate attached to the loan either compounded daily or for the life of the loan.If the player does not pay the loan back we have 2 options.
1.We receive ALL of his assets that are left. 2.Indentured servitude until his loan is paid back.Said player would only recieve 5% of any isk he earns the rest is funneled automatically into your personal account.
Now lets say he/she works for a corp. This would not affect his corp whatsoever. These are personal loans

Hi Mace. What if that character that you loaned money to just gives it to an alt or secondary accountand then deletes that character? He is no more, and your money is gone. You say that you should get that money back, but who is going to give you that money back? Polaris? Corporations? They will say: "Tough. You gave the money to the player. You'll need to deal with the consequences of that action, not us."

Edited by: Mace Griffin on 04/02/2004 23:56:44 Hmm good point.Ok lets just say like any loan there would be an interview process allowing you to be able to see ALL of his transaction history etc etc. This being a valid point the "loanee" would be required in the interview to reveal all his alts. In fact the loan could be applied to all his characters, indentured servitude as well, said player would not even have to reveal alts in this fashion.
But the older the character the more players have to lose by being deceitful.Giving a loan to a character only 2 days old would be more of a risk than say a character that has over a million skill points.

good idea mace. but 1 way to get around the alt system is to have the loan tied to the account holder, so if they do delete the character the load is with the others pay! |

Good idea, this way not everyone would be begging for isk (it does get annoying).Loaning someone the isk should be a very serious thing to do as all characters on that account would be held responsible for it.

Just tell them to shut up or you'll shoot them down next time you see them in space, that works too.

If its tied to the account I think the potential for noob abuse is a bit high. Its a sure thing that someone will figure out how to scam someone else with it. And unlike normal scams where your loosing all your money these scams would involve loosing all the money you havent earned yet. HAHAH YOULL NEVER EARN ANOTHER THING EVER AGAIN~ I can see ganja defence about "its in the game" even now.

Actually the indentured servitude is in keeping with the slavery aspect between amaarians and minmatar's.

how about a loan from CCP them selfs theres no deleteing alts because they know who u r and where u liveand depending on how long u have been in the game will decide what your % rate will be, 13.00% for noobs and 0.9% percent for the players who have been on since game release

I sat and thought about this. you could keep the player from transfering funds, that won't work because they can just sell a piece of trit for x amount and buy it with the alt they gave the loan to. And alts are completely different people, so you cant apply it across the board. Then there are the people that will take a loan and delete just to grief and **** people off. There is no real way to do this safely. "I'm comin' for ya, and Hell's comin' with me!" |

Well, as a CEO I do see something you may not (I dont know if you are one or not) but you can assign the rights to someone that thier account can open a hangar, (Dont know if this actually works) if so you can apply a "Loan", to a specified player's Acount. The problem youll see is that the server usage that would be needed. Imagine Amarr space with all those newbs loaning a few mil. The computations are going to be astroniomical. Maybe a lockdown below 500k of no transfer of funds until loan payoff? and with that anything over 500k is used for the loan? and thats for the account. Me personaly I fund my alt with my main so it dont matter.
