Hello there,
Yesterday i had , i'm guessing about 14mil sp's and change, and i could fly Gallente Heavy Assault Ships, had Repair Systems at lvl 5 and Advanced Weapons Upgrades at 3.
I had a clone grade Lambda with 15.6mil sps, so it covered more than half of what i had.
Yesterday afternoon after reloging back i went checking the market for buying an ishtar when i noticed i can't fly it, so i checked the skills and
I proceeded to check the rest of the skills and i find missing Gallente Cruiser, Repair Systems at V and the refered Adv Weapons Upg at 3.
So i petitioned, and i checked my clones, i poded myself once but i bought a clone twice b4 suiciding myself, i even checked the journal and there i have it the clone isk confirming.
Is this a bug?Can CCP give back the lost SP? _______________________

Check the emails from yourself in your evemail inbox. They state if you lost SP's due to not having sufficient clones etc.
Also confirming that you had bought a clone through the wallet journal doesn't prove you wheren't podded twice (first time with clone, second time without).
Basicly if something like this would happen to me I would immidiatly change my password since I would suspect someone else would have logged in and got himself killed... Also ask in your petition if they can see how often and when you where killed lately.

You can only lose SP in a single skill per death. To miss SP in 3 skills means you would have died 3 times without a decent clone. Or there is something strange going on.
Starting with a password change sounds like a good idea. Second would be checking for missing ships and cash to see if someone did indeed played and died a it with your account. If that's all ok, it's a wait for CCP's answer to your petition.

Ok its like this, before suiciding i always checked the clone and updated it to the 15mil sp one, i went checking for the journal to see if i missed one of the 2 times and i didn't, i'm positive i didn't die without an updated clone.
Passwords were checked and changed both and i'm not missing either ships nor ISKs, in fact i even had a +5 implant in my Vagabond cargo hold wich was there when i returned and relogged.
Now the weird part is i don't have any evemails regarding clones and SP loss, only the ones stating, enjoy your afterlife.
Its weird and i would like CCP to tell me if someone hacked my pw, wich i change regularly ( still i changed it one more time due to doubt in this case ), or some bug or mistake on my part, because i can't place any situation that might have led me to loose so much SP's. _______________________

CCP generally don't answer requests here - you'll have to petition it.

I petitioned this incident yesterday as soon as i noticed the loss of SP's.
And no, not drunk as in when i logged out i was going out driving, middle of afternoon, and no i didn't drink any beer/wine/spirits/place your preference. _______________________

Not sure what you mean by "more than half." A 15.6M clone should cover 14M yes. 2 problems. One is that "you think" you had 14M. The other is that the reported SP total is usually not correct. Why? It doesn't go up with your currently training skill. If you were training a 1M SP skill, with 800k SP completed, the display wouldn't reflect the 800k in your overall total (pretty sure about that.) This has undoubtedly caused problems for some. Don't know if that's the case here.

When i said more than half i am almost sure that i had 1more mil sp's in relation to what i have atm, i had aproximately 14.something sp's, dunno how much sps Gallente Cruiser V and Repair Systems V sum up in total.
I had those skills completed, along with others, the issue is the fact that those skills have been reseted to level 4 when they shouldn't.
And i was hoping to see if they returned back to normal after DT but no luck there.
They are still missing, hope i have a concrete response on part of the Gm's when i log ingame tonight. _______________________

Problem is, i had a good clone, with more sp's to store that those i had, when i was poded about 2 weeks ago, and last week when i selfdestructed i had a clone with more sps also, i had 14mil in a 15.6mil clone.
Its like i said, i could fly Ishtars in the morning, and then in the afternoon... kaput. _______________________

I spent 51 minutes training Trade to level two, I saw that the training had started, I checked it 1/2 way through.
Then I heard "Skill Training Complete", looked and it was still at level 1, no progress made to level 2 at all :-/
I didnt petition it, but I`ve taken a Screenshot of the 80% done Leadership V just in case.. ----

You lost Advanced Weapon Upgrades L3? That couldn't be from getting podded without a clone as that takes SP from the highest total SP skill which couldn't possibly be a L3 Rank 6 skill. A L5 Rank 1 skill would be higher SP than that...something very screwy definitely happened.
My advise is to look back through your skill training log (there's a button at the bottom of the list of skills that leads to it) and find the points at which it says you completed training of those skills. Then check your wallet's log to make sure you didn't get any payments for lost ships that you can't explain. If your first petition fails then launch a second one pointing out these things (which they can access and check themselves).
If you bought a new clone for every insurance payment you got then the only possible way for you to have lost SP would be to repeatedly fly in and get killed in nothing but a pod and I doubt they would accuse you of doing that. Further, that doesn't explain why a lower SP skill got hit.
Good luck man, this will all get worked out in the end.

Edited by: Dionisius on 22/08/2007 12:45:29 Hello,
Well i had an answer from CCP, it seems that i lost points on Gallente Cruiser V due to not having an updated clone and their logs couldn't show anything unusual in the rest of the lost sp's refering to the other skills.
I am however pretty sure i had everything in order and something weird has happened here. Passwords have been changed, computer checked, ISP checked so my position regarding petitions and bug reports is.... i don't care anymore.
I've redone my skill training schedule and modified my priorities, and one of them is simply playing, notice i am a guy that spends a good chunk of his life looking at multiple systems, IBM Mainframe, Networking, Win, etc, so i play this game to have a bit of enjoyment and not busting my head looking for problems..thats the Devs and Bug Hunters team department i'm just a player.
I'm sure the GM did what he could to check if there were any issues, but the results from this and past petitions leave me to choose this way of action, if i see a bug or something weird happens, don't care someone else petition it or file the report, the ocorrence goes to my RP part were i classify the ocorrence as an abnormal space-time vortex-something...
Thx to all for your replys on the matter. _______________________

in case u havent noticed, the skillpoint amount doesnt rise when u train a skill, just when it completes, its quite possible that your total amount went over the limit, but with this bug in char sheet, that u though to have enough sp's
and always get a clone that has way more skillpoints then your active amount, makes sure stuff like this doesnt happen

You see my problem is, i had those skills completed and i had a clone with more skillpoints than those i had.
I was training up drone skills and now i have to train gallente cruiser up to V again, repair systems V again, and skill up Adv Weapons Upgrades up to IV at least ( had it at III should be at IV). _______________________

Edited by: Schani Kratnorr on 23/08/2007 13:28:59 This is a VERY old bug. I had it happen to me on another character about 2 years ago (I think)
I had a lengthy discussion with some CCP person aboutr it, and at the end, I was told something along the lines of, "if it aint in the logs, it aint happened...".
I think that was when I stopped filing bug reports...
EDIT: come to think of it, if you go deep into "nerd country", and start looking at MSSQL in detail, you might find other instances where data loss occurs. I guess this bug is on the CCP /ignore list along with the "BPO in research vanished"-bug.
