I don't want to have to deal with people looking for a bargain.
I know what it's worth to me and I'm willing to pay for it. It may not be worth that much to others, but I've been selling T2 mining crystals since they first came out.
I wanted to start with a bid that would limit the bidding to people that are serious.
If the top bid was only 600 million you'd feel tempted to try to snipe it at the last minute. With a top bid of 2 billion it makes you think twice.

Edit: God knows why you have to bid 1.5m over the start bid anyway. You'd think it'd be a good deal if you were the only one who wanted it at 600m

The intent of the maximum bid was to head off people who insist on bidding with noob alts who occasionally like to crash an auction with some stupidly high bid that they have no intention of following through on in the hopes that their main (who posted the second highest bid) will be contacted to collect at the much lower "second place" bid. Obviously I should have included extra things like "Don't bid against yourself" and "No Noob Alts" but meh...whatever. Nobody ELSE bid against themselves please. Obviously there's no REAL way to stem the tide, so I suppose I'll edit the max bid out.
