Heck, no more scamming/selling services/selling worthless shares/selling piles of s**t!
You mean we actually have to talk to others in-game, on channels or local space? What, we even have to bid realistic prices that we make our own minds up on?? Hold on, what are you saying...we actually need to do in-game stuff in-game??? Whatya mean I can make a channel????
Contract system does need a few tweaks, admittedly. I like the idea of an ebayish type system instead of the forums....

I agree that the end time on current contracts needs fixing, and most of the other stuff that others have brought up needing doing on contract system. However, just because scammers use a system in-game doesn't mean it isn't good (freeform). Afterall, they use all the channels also.
I suspect that making everything happen in-game means its more likely to be petitionable if things go wrong and you get scammed, and they can track down various crooked players easier...

A lot of the people whinging are players that make isk from doing nothing except buying modules and the like for below market prices from newer players and reselling them. The advantage of the forums is that many newer players don't look there....
Alternatively, you might think I'm being harsh and instead think that the sell forums are used by players that make isk from selling something that is not really making them 'play' the game (eg, web-hosting services, animation of character, signatures blah blah blah).

Ahh, amoungst the outrageous (and totally, IMO, childish) rants in this thread are some good ideas for improvements to the in-game contract service or an alternative auction type website (based upon an ebay type model be good).
It's interesting how everyone gets on their high horses and slags off CCP etc- before knowing the full story, or if there is any replacement for these forums coming...
Essentially, by selling through the forums (hell, I've also done it) we avoid taxes etc in-game. You are b**ching because you'll make less profit etc if you have to sell expensive items through contracts- SO WHAT! Welcome to the real world...try telling your stockbroker that you want an alternative to paying his fees....
I'm awaiting official word on improvements/alternatives...if there are none, I'll join the rest of you
