So... about Boosters...
It's an aspect of EvE I want to start exploring. Creating and selling boosters. What skills would I need? What tools would I need? How does it all work? Good money? |

Is it cause nobody is making them? Or just nobody uses em? I haven't checked the market for em myself. But if there was a steady supply would they be used?

We mostly produce them for our capital pilots, they're not really worth using on normal ships as the strongest boosters are quite expensive to make and the weaker versions aren't all that great. Then theres of course the possible side effects when using them. -----

Well here's my thinking...
Nobody really uses them because A: They're expensive, and B: Not Readily Available.
If you were in 0.0 and the market was flooded with various kinds of boosters... I don't see why people wouldn't use them. I think the biggest problem is... most people have never even tried using them.
However my question hasn't really been answered yet.
I know I'll need a 0.0 POS to make them. So onto the POS question, first.
Q: What kind of control tower would be needed? Q: What would need to be connected to the POS?
Now as far as skills go... what kind of skills would I need? To what levels would I have to train the skills to in order to be effective?
When you say boosters are expensive to manufacture... what kind of costs are you talking about?
Really, this is something I am strongly interested in learning to do. Building ships and whatnot... I've got that figured out. Hypothetically. But boosters are on a whole different playing field.
How are they made? Can you explain in detail what steps it takes to make a booster?

Reckon it's a bit long process.
People need to first hear success stories of their usability. After which they pretty much need to train couple semi-expensive (total 150M?) skills to reduce side effects.
Personally using dose of Strong X-Instinct now and then; one shot gives me +20% speed for an hour (good for few roaming battles). With only one or two (due the skills) non-critical side-effects.
But still, it's 30M (from Venal's only market supplier) per shot -> can't see myself using it constantly
Yet for those boosters usable for capitals, there should be market once people realise the benefits of having spare dose in cargo bay all the time.
To help in the process: keep some 0.0 regions supplied (won't need that many), and try to get successful usage stories from your customers. Which you then can compile and post here as semi-advertisement..

Setting up a drug manufacturing POS is simple. Been there done that; its getting the resources around thats hard. You also need to be in an area with an ample supply of gas, or willing to buy it. Buying currently is crazy seen as no one knows of a reasonable price for it and the prices are way too high. You would never mine an asteroid again if you knew how much ISK you can make mining gas, as long as you have someone to sell it to.
If you think you have what it takes to run a drug manufacture POS then contact me in game. I will provide a package containing the POS, the necessary structures, instalation guide and the skill books needed.
The price will have to be discussed. All you will need to acquire after purchase to start production is the gas, resources (water and megacyte for standard boosters), reaction and the blue print copy for the booster. These are easily acquirable over contacts and on the market in jita, the gas well I can point you in the right direction as of where to find it in abundance. As I have the names of the constellations containing the larger gas clouds and in a couple of cases which type of gas is found there.
Feel free to ask questions but seen as knowledge is power and all that I'm not going to be answering many questions on the whole process. I can also help to set up more advanced processes but you will have to set up a few POS's and it could get pricey.
Soon enough we will all be using the more basic combat boosters at a reasonable price. All we need is people to produce them the resources are all out their.

There are people using boosters out there. To make them as effective as possible, its best to train the booster related skills, such as nanite control and neurotoxin recovery.
I think one of the reasons it seems 'quiet' on the booster front is down to the fact they are still not common knowledge. I've sold to a fair few people who don't know anything about them at all, but are interested in trying them out when they find out a bit more.
Of course, I have to say if you are looking to buy any, look one of us at WHIZZ up, prices aren't as high as you'd think. Certainly not 30mil for a unit of improved X-instinct, and we deliver
