We've often wondered what it is Zapatero does at EVE TV and finally we have an answer, he's in charge of the tea. The Alliance Tournament is coming soon and the EVE TV people wanted to let you know you'll be able to see it for free, and that they're flying to Iceland to broadcast from there.
Zapatero also wanted to let you know about EON and some advertising information. Please head over to the Blog section and read Alliance Tournament coverage... and beyond.

Yay! The Tournament is coming. But will it bring Rev 2.2 with it, or will it be held running Rev 2.1?

That version was by Conan and from the movie Conan the Barbarian.
The original was Genghis Khan and went along the lines of:
"The greatest pleasure is to vanquish your enemies and chase them before you, to rob them of their wealth and see those dear to them bathed in tears, to ride their horses and clasp to your bosom their wives and daughters."

I thought that podding was not allowed, and that accidental podkills would be reimbursed.

Does not add up with:
Originally by: GM Nova 9. Intentional podkilling is NOT allowed. Accidental podkills will be reimbursed and no penalties incurred.

Yes - I spent an hour searching for new rule allowing podding Just maybe he let his imagination run away... At least wrecks and corpses will be "ghosts" so they don't litter the field too much - I'm a nice guy!!

A strange Blog.
Zap, how will expensive ships be lost when the rules completely discourage them? Most teams will be showing up in T1 cruisers I feel. Also podding is the same, you can't do it, and you are podded you are re-imbursed.
And you still haven't answered the question of whether we're using a direct media stream (which everyone wants) or Jalipo.

My guess would be Revelations 2.2 since the tournament starts 31 August and we're deploying Revelations 2.2 28 August. But I guess they could use a different server with an old version, doubt it though.

Not really, I've done this job long enough to know that the logical thing would be that Revelations 2.2 is used, but if I say that we will use Revelations 2.2 for sure some bright person will have decided to use Revelations 2.1 without telling me, and that would make me look stupid.

If you're worried about server bandwidth, etc, when uploading recordings of the shows - why don't you use something like BitTorrent? I'm sure since it's a legal download many people would keep it seeded for you

This is a question that should be answered. And chancesa re that CCP already knows the answer.
The only reason I can think of that they havent answered yet is that they know we arent going to like the answer.

Eon looks great and all and the only reason I don't buy it is because payment via solo/maestro is still not available.
Why not boost sales and include more payment methods. Paypal would give the store a good boost as virtually everyone (no pun intended) can get a paypal account.
/me pokes the evil people with a rusty stick to accept more payment types

The Eve Tv Alliance Tournament will be available in a wmv stream. This means you¦l be watching it in your media player of choice so the screen size is up to you (broadcasting in 720x576 though).
A 512kb option (at least) will be available.
