I was browsing the contracts and come across one of these, now its seems like a a **** load of skills to train. I know its faction (is it like the NavyRaven eqvielent?) also you have to train Gallente skills to use it. Whats its role and is it really that good ?

A true beast. Imho, there is relatively little skill required to sit in it actually. But if you really want to utilize its versatility you'll need a s***load of additional skills.

Getting minni and gallente bs 4 is a lot ?
Unless you mean to get them both to 5 which is obvionsly better :P Yeh it is kind of the equivalent to the CNR but its a pirate faction ship (angel to be precise) hence needing 2 race bs skills plus 3 bonuses (1 built in)
Well its for um general bs usage basically, its comparable to to a tempest with better HP and an extra low slot which is v.nice/

Simplest/easiest thing to do, especially for Caldari base pilots is put on 3 T2 large extenders, 2 hardeners, 6 artillery, 2 cruise launchers, 7 T2 shield power relays, and 3 core purger rigs.
Pull a raven only passively tanked. You won't have the resistances of a drake, for example, but you'll get almost 50% more peak regen and almost 50% more raw speed.
More conventional fittings for it require real thought and training. ;-)

Machariel is a ******* combat monster. You can shield tank it, armor tank it, use it as an in-yur face AC boat or an artillery-slinging sniper. Its one of the few jack-of-all-trades ships that can still match or outperform a more specialized battleship. Other than needing to train both minmatar and gallente battleship it doesnt require any more training to use than any other battleship (although no one with basic skills should consider climbing into a faction ship...its a damn expensive piece of hardware and not having the skills to use it effectively is just silly)
☼☼☼ Don't even THINK about it rookie...I have all my capacitor and more hit points than you can POSSIBLY imagine. ☼☼☼

At 500-650m it's one of the cheapest faction battleships on the market(s) that I know of.
Fleet tempest is the only one that comes close, though naval ravens dropped pretty heavily and might get into competition range.
Still, better pricing on a machariel than a nightmare, rattlesnake, or other "real" faction ships.

Edited by: Odium47 on 27/08/2007 12:51:23 Yeah, low prices in comparison to the other faction BS, good shields, good armor, excellent speed. Good weaponry usage...but it has a few problems. The main problem is the capacitor. It has a very low recovery rate. Second, everyone is suposing that if one flies a Mach it must be having some faction modules as well. Which means that everyone will hunt you down for modules, weather you have them or not (ant that in safe space!!!). That really sux. Cause it makes this ship a primary target. So, sooner or later you will be killed.
