I know this subject is controversial and has been done to death but I had an idea for what form T2 battleships could take.
I have done a cursory search of EVE-O and havent found anything like this suggested if it has been then I apologise.
The Devs have stated they won't introduce a T2 Battleship until there is a niche for it. I believe one has arisen. I was reading a thread a few weeks ago where a guy was fitting battleship weapons to battlecruisers and it got me thinking.
How about a battleship that can mount one or two dreadnought class weapons, and perhaps has some sort of "mini siege mode" that allows it to have T2 resists without it being a solopwnmobile.
The Role this would fill would be twofold. Firstly it could siege High sec POS where Cap ships can't go, secondly it could be used to attack systems with cynojammers in 0.0

So, you envision something halfway between a Dread and a BS. Thats about the same gap like it is between Industrials and Freighters - the smaller one is just too small for some purposes, while the bigger version is either too big, or too unpractical. Both, esp. the BS, could have a serious impact on the game. Although I¦d like the idea of having a T2 BS as new class (like with HAC/CS) and a few new skills to use them (i.e. Flagships as ship base for T2 BSes), I¦d be worried if they wouldn¦t be too powerful - assuming that a large number of players would get them. It would also be nessessary to think about them as part of "the blob" - a 100+ fleet is not actually underpowered against a POS, and those pocket-siegers might add a bit too much punch in that case.

Would need to review the situation after the current Sovereignty mechanics have had their fair share of feedback, but this has merit.
Another consideration is the cloaking AOE which T2 BS's could have.

Wisely spoken. Give it some more time to see how easy/hard it is to kill/defend a POS in 0.0/lowsec with a medium/large fleet and with/without a lot/few defenders under the current system (including POS guns etc.) With all that "data", it should be possible to estimate the use/danger of implementing T2 BSs and, most importantly, what they should be able to do - and what not.

People have come up with this before on these forums and others like SHC.
But just no.

I think I'd prefer super-tanked "dictors"...
I'd also prefer to see POS warfare become less ... painful (so that there's no need for this kind of thing).

It would have an impact on the game, but no more so than other classes of ship. IMO they wouldnt be any more powerful in large groups than say Hacs or Commandships, plus the skill reqs would be prohibitive. If every ship was thought about in terms of "the blob" we'd only have T1 frigates

A hard to kill indictor style ship would be nice, and CCP do seem to have invented trench warfare for EVE with the POS mechanics as they currently stand

i`d like to see an exploration ship that would allow u to scan out a site as easy as with a covert ops frig and then be able to do the site with out flying back to switch ships doesnt nessecarily need to be able to wrp cloaked. but would make explo a little less tedious if it was given some nice bonues to scanning
