Quite simply, Querious was being attacked on two fronts. IAC focused on 49-u with -A- support while -A- went for ED mainly on their own. 49-u has 49 moons, ED has 11. Defending 49-u is easier because it doesn't rely on so few pos's. -A- told IAC to keep the pressure up in 49-u so that they could take ED while we were busy. We realised this and made the educated decision to smash IAC as hard as we possibly could in 49-u realising the risk of losing ED was very real. -A- played their cards nicely and knocked out 6 of our towers in ED-, they now have sov I believe (but they have 6 of their own towers to defend tomorrow).
Overall I don't think anyone has the complete upper hand at the moment. From what I've seen recently, IAC seem to be a bit demoralised, they lost in the region of 12-15 large towers in 49-u in 5 days and quite a few were faction towers. The fight has fully switched to ED now where we must turn our attention to -A-. This will be extremely interesting for a few reasons.
1) No sovereignty 3 for either side means that nobody can safely use their titan as an iron fist to control the system. Both sides fielding impressive capital fleets puts both sides titan(s) at significant risk.
2) FIX and co are now attacking, not defending. ED is now an -A- system. Also, there is no way to POS spam with so few moons in system. Everything about the fight for ED is different from the 3 month conflict in 49-u.
Whenever -A- have been present on the field (and no disrespect to IAC here), things have been much more difficult for us to deal with but it has also made things interesting. If it was just a giant blob of us against 150 IAC it wouldn't be particularly fair. -A- + IAC however, that is a dangerous combination and one which we have had many great fights with over the last 3 months.
In short: The battle for 49-u is over for the moment. IAC's towers were wiped out with extremely low resistance. While we did that, -A- took advantage of the situation and struck ED. They now have control of the system but not as firmly as they would have liked. They would have preferred having control of that system with IAC having some sort of grip in 49-u. Let the ping pong begin and good luck to IAC and -A-.

Quick Update.
Sov in ED BEFORE dt was Against ALL Authorities. They had 6 towers to FIX's 5. We killed 2 towers, the second went down 30 seconds before Downtime. The second tower went down with a few hitches though. Evil Thug doomsdayed our fleet on -A-'s dying POS and scored about 50 kills.
Sovereignty switched from -A- to FIX at downtime, FIX now have sov and are attempting to clear system with allies. Local peaked at 600 before downtime.

The Lag was so bad it was untrue really wrecking this game really. So bad you can't warp any where with out dieing due to the fact they see you faster then you see them.... its just chit...

I clicked warp on my covert 3 minutes before ET's last doomsday. 3 minutes later, my ship ACTUALLY WARPS! Warps onto grid as soon as ET arrives and doomsdays. That's just bloody hilarious lol. My ship waited 3 minutes to warp into the grid just to get doomsdayed

If your goal was 50 kills and to lose Sov congrats. Its disapointing to see you ask and ask for people to put caps on the table when you are around, but when they do you seem to forget your capitals.
FIX+ Friends have used there capitals atleast 10 times now, when you going to kill some of them? When are you going to kill some towers and help your Masters IAC ? Seems to me the war front just turned into IAC space now long as FIX+ Friends can get a few towers up and hold sov.
Lol, you're making it sound like we've been able to use ours and allied capitals without resistance. I find it pretty neat that ET used his doomsday despite the incredible lag and being outnumbered badly. There was a real risk of him losing his titan.
If it had been as easy for us as you are trying to make out, this war would not have lasted over 3 months so far.
Also, -A- had something in the region of 30 carriers active in ED today. I think 30 carriers certainly counts towards something.

I really must disagree. I refer to a number of incidents at the start of the 49-u conflict, one mainly where 110 IAC (60 bs) jumped into a gate camped by 65 FIX (30 bs) and got slaughtered.
The first person to complain about blobs this time was FIX and that was after being faced with IAC, -A-, Recon and Bos. I think in most cases you would be right but it's not a blanket statement. Some alliances thrive on being blobbed and outnumbered. Fix is one of those alliances.

dont mistake complaints about the 'blob' themselves for complaints about the fact half your force dies before ever loading grid.
Oh I definitely agree. I've had that problem myself a few times, it's very frustrating but it's part of game mechanics and it's just something we have to deal with i'm afraid.
