i was sorting my assetts out which i do periodically. i have a lot of stuff that i dont use. saw a new guy in local chatting to people. i gave him a load of blueprints, equiment, and other stuff. valueless to me but to him starting up was quite valuable.
i also bought a player returning to the game a drake in 0.0 when i saw he was ratting in a ferox - the only ship he had.
i also give people fitting advice all the time in relation to ship sewtups etc.
people tend to think that our corp is hostile. but if people actually spoke to us instead of insulting us they would learn something different.
recently in 0.0 had a few good chats with hostiles in local , who were surprised that we were actually quite nice :P

Now, now Jim. You too have payed it forward.
On June 17 2006 (Icelandic Independence Day) you and I both put up about 50 mil each to sponsor a field trip for about 26 SWA noobs to 0.0 and as I recall you personnally took them there. Was a fun time by all and each noob got a couple mil isk to help him along.

I've gotten 3 people in eve rich by letting them gang up with me in lvl 4 missions while they can't really fight and letting them salvage.
I've loaned a total of 100 mill out, only half of which I've ever gotten back. Knytemare Grathmourn, I know you don't read forums, but you still owe me 50 mill.

hey hey
Ive given out loads of random Free Firetails for various reasons.
I recently had a habit of setting up contracts of Huricane BPC's with only minimum contract fee setups. My wish was to give away another copy to anyone who said thanks. . . only 1 person did :(
I had a contract for a Gallente Navy Blaster with a full set of faction ammo and noone claimed it. so i reacustioned a few days later and somone bought it. I then sent them a free contract of some Fed Navy Ammo as a complimentary gift. . . . did they say TY !! did they crap :''(
I normally randomly do some act of kindness but my spirit of good nature drops everytime noone says thanks :( Theres Just to many alts now to give randomly too :/

Three things actually:
1. I regularly run escort for newb mining ops with a strongly outfitted Battlecruiser/Battleship setup. There's a karma payoff here as all the people buy their ships from me.
2. I was fooling around in low sec, and flew a Megathron into a belt where there was a Rifter poking around. I "LOLed" into local that I felt so sorry for him that I wasn't going to pod him. He opened fire on me... my drones and missiles had him dead in a few seconds. I sent him some cash since the guy had no idea what he was doing.
3. I have a few political connections since I sell ships to a lot of people. I've gotten a pirate corp to backoff a newb-war through politics.

I was scanning cans in the Museum Arcana COSMOS complex and saw a Typhoon wandering around doing the same thing blasting the snot out of the complex rats, which I was doing as well. We said nothing to one another, doing our own things.
An hour later I undocked from a station and saw his pod sitting outside, so asked him what happened. He said he got distracted and couldn't kill one of the scramming frigs. Respawn rate beat his tank and *pop*. He said he didn't have another ship capable of handling the room nearby, and warped off to start the 20 leg trip to his nearest ship.
I had more work to do in the plex, so trucked back in, killed the spawns and spotted the dead Typhoon's can, so picked it up. I was surprised to see that all the gear that survived was T2 or faction.
Leaving the plex, I kept 1 of the faction items I could most use, and set up an escrow to the pilot who lost his ship. All told I escrowed back perhaps 150 million worth of gear. Needless to say the typhoon pilot was surprised. :)
The same exact situation happened to me in a multi-gate COSMOS room, to the tune of 250m lost, and another 500m left in the wreck of my Abaddon, uncluding the hard-to-get key. I asked a local I had seen trying to navigate the gates for some help... but he was all T1, low end, hardly a good tank, but he said he'd give it a try. I gave him a set of BM's through the plex, followed in a Sac. Entering the last room he got jumped. I tractored in my can, salvaged my surviving gear, killed the scramming frigs, and waited until he had warped out (in very low armor), then followed him out.

I occasionally invite newbies in frigates and destroyers to come along with me on level 4 missions and to help kill frigates. They're usually awed by everything going on, all the ships and explosions, it's really cute to see their reactions.
Recently karma smiled upon me - I was in a mission with a guy in a Coercer, barely three weeks old, and I accidentally trigger the next spawn. I was warp scrammed and my tank was breaking pretty quickly, and I told the newbie to get out while he could and that saving me was a lost cause. He refused and continued firing on the frigate scrambling me even while taking fire from numerous ships himself. With my domi at 30% hull the frigate finally died and we both warped to safety. I sent him 10 mil for an act that I consider truely heroic. ------------ Whiners - Unite! | Posting and You Tarminic - Forum Warfare Specialist. |

I was in a sensor boosted crow, moving between 2 outposts and the gate cycled.
A pod appeared and I tried to lock him, preparing for the inevitable failure and amazingly I managed to get a lock.
ctrl F1-F4 revealed I'd forgot to load the ship with ammo, a glance in the cargohold showed I had none in my bay.
"careful in these parts mate" i said "not everyone around here is as kind as me" I added, kicking myself as I let my lock drop.
Kind, Random... not me, but I guess he thought so..............

I once blew up somebody's Enyo in my carrier (he actually sat still for the 26 seconds it took for me to lock him). I then gave him a brand new Enyo from my ship bay which had better fittings than he had on the one I blew up. I also told him not to be so silly next time he sees a big scary ship land next to him in low-sec --------------------------------------------------------------------

I can usually be found dishing out wads of cash to noobs in CAS for entertaining the masses. The ones that beg or whine don't get any. The ones that actually do make a go of things, usually failing miserably but learning from their mistakes can find something in their wallets.
I regularly take out noobs on Lev 4 missions. Something very cool about them in tiny frigates hiding under the expansive wings of my raven. They're usually about as effective as a chocolate teapot but they enjoy themselves. I've also been known to drop everything i'm doing to warp a few jumps to help a noob on a mission, knowing full well I can always come back later and complete mine.
I've bought countless ships for people, ranging from frigates and destroyers all the way up to battleships. I'd estimate that I only get back about 10% of what I give away, and only about 1% of people ever say thanks.
Karma comes around... eventually

I was wondering what the nicest thing you have done in EvE is?
Not so much giving ISK to someone in Jita who is begging but more like overhearing someones bad luck story in local and dropping them some cash, taking someone to the point of destruction then relenting for some reason and etc.
As a noob in BP channel, I was given 20 mil isk by a generous player whom I am great friends with now and I sell his capital BPC's! At the time, 20 mil isk was a LOT of isk to me. It got my trading off the ground and I haven't looked back since :)

Well, it would have to be Financing my friends corp. I dragged 6 people from BattleField 2 into Eveonline. I said it was a 30k player server. (And they were hooked )
I personally went and made there Character's the way they wanted with the right atributes, (Something i wish i could take back 4 Bae willpower )
The leader of the Squad took over as a ceo, they are facinated with the idea of eve with player based economy Supply and demand. Things changed, the whines came... about training.. to ease there mind So they wouldent get discouraged, I bought them all +3 implants At the time (around 100m for 1 set) and they have those implants till this day.
Donated over 750m in 5 months to get them started. They have a 40+ man corp and are growing strong, and I couldn't be any happyer.
Funny thing is that they now operate in empire and own 95% of all T1 ship bpo's.
By helping 6 people I believe I have made a diffrence in eve as the people I bought to the game have treated people in there corp, local, and where ever with open arm's.

Edited by: Modrak Vseth on 28/08/2007 02:19:03 Was flying around in my Rupture and scanned down an Imicus in a belt, warped in and insta-popped it (I only fired up 2 guns, I swear). I forgot to check his age first and only realized that he was only 2 days old when he said "Wow, how'd you do that? I didn't even see you there."
So, I gave him some advice on staying alive and gave him 1M to "cover his losses" (1M isn't a lot, but it was 10% of what I had at the time). He eve-mailed me a few days later asking if my corp was recruiting.
