Just started EVE it downloaded patch then i got this error.
Only been playing little over a month got no 3rd party clients or addons for EVE, im using vista 64 bit.
Any suggestions on what to do before I resort to reinstalling the client.
Rebooting didnt work.
No skills currently training, so want to log in asap.

same error here, though i ssaw it before when copying my folder and tryign to patch the test server a week or do ago, so im guessign its a prob with the last client

Got same error on one desktop with the tut2.stuff patching.
Worked on a laptop, so copied over the tut2.stuff file and patched OK.
Only difference I can think of between the two EVE installations is the one that didn't work was reinstalled recently with a fresh install for the last big patch. Both running Vista.

Take a good look at the error message.
Does it say "extra files in <somewhere>" ?
Well then, just take those files OUT of there then, move them somewhere else entirely (don't delete. just move).
Try booting up the client again.

Patch corrupted my client too, tried the suggestions in the various posts above but had to resort to full install in the end.
Bizarely on my 2nd account the auotopatch appeared to be trying to install 2 patches simultaneously (one 31,732 kb, the other 29,532 kb) after which I got 2 dialogue boxes stating that the install was probably corrupt did I want to try again?
I said yes to both dialogue boxes and now the patch was only 14,766 kb but clearly trying to install 2 patches again so the next time it failed I only ok'd one of the dialogue boxes and it seemed to go fine.

Nope im XP SP2
one of the files that it says is missing/corupt is root:/bin/vivoxdk.dll
hmm isnt vivox to do with eve frackin voice ?

For me it said in the error I had extra files (/capture) in root:/bin/
When I checked the /eve/bin/ folder I had a folder named capture there with a folder named screenshots inside. When I deleted the entire /capture folder the game works again :)

Patcher program has detected that your file ResTextures.stuff is corrupt this program will now exit...or to that effect. ive been playng eve since Gemini... ive gone through 3 hardrives always backing up the data. my current eve folder has been on this harddrive since january 2007. and every other week i do defrag ,harddrive scan, every other day i do virus scan. prior to this patch my eve folder was working, i was playing eve enjoying its many wonderous missions and ships, etc, etc. Now my eve client is totally corrupt. so i have one thing to say to crowd control productions ltd. GET SOME NEW STAFF THAT CANCODE PROPERLY.

I have windows xp home and had same problem
I had to uninstall eve after 3 x trying to patch and
download the whole new client. I hope it works, i also washed my pc and used a regclean.

im getting missing flies and a CRC problem on trinity.dll
downloading full build now :(
going slow as hell 170kbs ftl :( wheres my 800 :(

See my reply, same problem, i removed eve and all remnents and downloaded the new eve client and worked fine.
I suggest you do the same. the patching is screwing for some.

This fella speaks the truth. Was having same problems as everyone else - created a "test file location" folder in my program files. Moved the two files that were causing me problems to there and the game now runs fine.
Congratulations. You just "fixed" your client install.
