Vyktor Abyss The Abyss Corporation	Posted - 2007.08.28 14:12:00 - [1] I've read now in so many posts about how 'Drone regions are crap..', 'Fountain is for noobs..', 'Our region is great coz we live here..' and other fantastically insightful comments littering the forums. But what really makes a good 0.0 region in your opinion? Lowest True Sec? Arkronor? Few choke points? Gas Clouds? NPC rat type? NPC stations/agents? Fewer Pirates? Proximity to Empire? Most targets to shoot at? etc... Feel free to flame away. After all it is COAD, I expect it....But if anyone wants to leave a top five 0.0 regions with justifications why then I'd appreciate it and enjoy reading your comments. Lots of resources and small amount of NPC stations grouped together. Gives a good ground to invading force but not too much to leave a defending group overwhelmed. -----------------------------------------------

Syndicate - For the simple fact it's a complete clusterf*** everyone is a target and everyone is shooting everyone else. The rats aint brilliant but they keep you in ships and there are a few belts with decent ore in. But it's the PvP everyone has cut their teeth in Syndicate and of course the only named system has it's own site! 4. Querious - Very rich area, the rats drop nice loot, and the roids are full of nice mins! Also another good PvP location. 3. Branch - Ok so it's out of the way, way outta the way, but thats a reason I like it. Also another very rich region where ISK can be made hand over fist. You can hide away a lil easier up there too! (Thats if you make it that far) 2. Feythabolis - Tactically it's a secure region, although the speed at which ASCN lost it, you wouldn't think it was, lots of choke-points and hardly any systems where the hostiles can come from behind. I really enjoyed my time down there and the Domination spawns drop HAWT loot! 1. Venal - Without a doubt my fave time in eve was when VLINC was part of DOOM Alliance living in Venal, my only officer spawn to date. PvP every day and access to NPC stations means you can have fun w/o the need for PoS warfare!
Privious Caldari Thundercats RAZOR Alliance	Posted - 2007.08.28 14:34:00 - [5] In my opinion a constellation / region has to be easy to defend, ofcourse Icefields are needed to keep you'r posses running as hauling your fuels from empire is risky and it costs iskies. good ore arkonor is a good example. True lowsec.. well -0.7 and below is cool :D Agents? personally I don't bother mission running anyway so I prefer no NPC Stations unless abadonned, as they also prevent you from claiming sovergnity. close to empire has its advantages and disadvantages for example an advantage is if for example simply, to buy your stuffs, often cheaper than in 0.0. disadvantage is it's hard to see a hostile gang comming up from empire. And Drone regions aren't crap, really you just need to know how to rat efficient. for example: grab a ratting raven to kill the Drones. ask yer mate to come in an itty with a tractor beam and a salvager to loot and salvage. as a former drone resident I know it's quite rewarding. Privious --------- When the pin is pulled Mr. Grenade is not our friend.

You can base out of the Serpentis constellation, good rats if you need cash, and there's player outposts close by to go raid. As for regions with no NPC stations, I'm partial to Branch, but just because I got my first and only Officer spawn there

For example, a lot of people say Period Basis / Delve, but have you ever tried getting a ship down there? It's like 20 jumps through low-sec aridia, which is a pain in the ass. A region's richness is dependent almost exclusively on who is living there.

I guess it means the regions are now pretty well balanced by CCP. I definatley need to go try living in some more places than just Syndicate and Providence. Though Providence is a kinda Babylon 5 place that I'll no doubt always return to for the variety of the good (small gang pvp), the bad (Pirate shortages due to over-efficient CVA gangs!) and the ugly (Milojko) . Has the removal of static 10/10's made a big impact on the desiribility? Is it now key for alliances to have good explorers too? More comments welcome! LeviUK hirr Morsus Mihi	Posted - 2007.08.28 17:04:00 - [18] I've lived in Fountain and Tribute and been based in Delve/Period Basis/Geminate at various stages of my eve-life and Fountain is a carebear's dream, with plenty of decent (and very easy to kill) rats and asteroid belts if that's your thing. However, as mentioned previously, it really is a pain in the arse to travel to/from. Tribute is really quite naff for carebearish stuff but it has everything else in spades.. copious amounts of PVP thanks to direct links out to Vale Of The Silent, Venal, Pure Blind and indirectly, Tenal and the Drone Regions, leading on to the likes of Branch, Deklein and Fade etc. Given that it invariably gets plenty of traffic and is within 10 jumps of the main trading hubs in The Forge and Lonetrek, it's actually quite a nice place to be if you like small scale PVP.

Period Basis.I've only been through there but it looks like a fat, rich region with great blood raider rats. It's always looked sparsely populated to me. 4. Tenal. Really far from most fighting. When I lived there is was a very stable region. Rich ore belts, far enough from most hostiles and gurista rats. 3. Esoteria. High end ore, Sansha rats and from there you can get to Stain, Feythabolis, or Period Basis. 2. Branch. Just like Tenal. Both of them have easy access to complexes Branch has LOTS of good ore belts. 1. Feythabolis. I have never seen a region so perfect for carebears. it's as far from empire as you can get/ South end of Feyth near 2-r has 7/10 and 8/10 complexes, arkonor right outside the station, it's right near esoteria and one of the best ratting system in esoteria and ASCN left a nice bit of infrastructure there. Just remembering my time there makes me drool.

Reto The Last Resort	Posted - 2007.08.28 23:13:00 - [36] delve. hands down. the bob rats drop fat stuff and u get a lot free ore from the lower tier bob rats. only problem is the infrasturcture. the bob faction is the only one ingame which doesnt allow u to dock at their stations. if u want to dock u need to rat all of their officer spawns down which can be a pain in the ass to do since they are hardly spawning but still if u bbq em ull get access to that regions stations which from a infrastucture point of view is a load easier than flying back to empire all the time to drop the loot and get new ammo. Feyth is probalbly one of the most valuable regions in the game (most outposts of any region in game, though catch is catching up since no outposts are being build in feyth anymore ) Though Providence is generally a crap region, I still like it since it was the first 0.0 region I lived in. Though I've never spent much time carebearing there, Delve is supposedly great for making iskies. In terms of targets, Syndicate, Venal, Providence, Catch, and Fountain are my favorites. NPC stations if you want, Conquerable space if you want, lots of faction/officer spawns in the Blood Raider constellation. Oh, and Blood Raider rats are feeble children with sever mental handicaps. No idea what the mining is like, but the region as a whole seems relatively secure, with only a few entrances. But like Dungar said, there is no market there and the nearest one is many, many jumps of ugly lowsec away. And I have a wierd soft-spot for Outer Ring. I just like that region.

Easy to defend and a lot of good roids but the angels are ****s to kill and there is no officer in that region. By a way of contrast, Venal was hard to defend but the roids, guristas and officer were a ISKies Heaven. What about the drones region? Never went there so how are they?

Jita has its own server, infact last time we were told, it has the same type of hardware that runs the entire test server. Can't say too much, have only lived in a few regions, though I'd say with jump bridges and some good networks alot of very nice places are now easy to get to for friendlies and hard for hostiles to get to. (And easy to get out of to find hostiles ;) )

Never been in too much earnings stuff myself (except unlucky 6/10 plexes in the past) so i cant talk from industrial/npcing perception. Crok & Bist all over the place when Zydrine prices were through the roof, ok rats (Serp, with Guristas 2 jumps away), and all 3 conq stations in close proximity with the first station system (L-C3O7) a chokepoint controlling deeper access, and more than its share of PvP in the general area. Now though, with POSes and outposts and sovereignty, I wouldn't know. Nor do I care.

Jotan Veer HUN Corp. HUN Reloaded	Posted - 2007.08.29 21:07:00 - [65] I have spent significant chunks of time in Tribute, Fountain and Paragon Soul. Some time in Stain and GW. I think the most important issue is your corp, if you are part of a good team then the region doesn't matter that much in my opinion. Great corp = having a blast, everything else is secondary. Paragon Soul is a nice and quiet place but unless there is a full scale war then there are no targets for pvp nearby and since it is at the arse end of the universe logistics is a nightmare. Tribute kinda blows in the resource department but close to empire and always had a decent supply of roaming gangs and other assorted fun stuff. Fountain is fun, close to empire, NPC stations guarantee that there always will be some pvp, however the cloaking, logging, stabbed, Chinese-text-spam-in-your-face guys are annoying. I never liked Stain, every time I been there I had to sneak-in and sneak-out. Never got ganked but always got an uneasy feeling that there will be a bubble camp at the other side of a gate with some comrades in big ships. Naw Empire is where it's all at, My alt is a one man corp, war decing carebears around oursalaert, jita, amarr, or wherever the winds take my sails.
