If you are having consistent disconnection issues, I would urge you to file a bug report on it.
Bug Reporting
Remember when bug reporting to include output from a logserver file, as well as including system specs, dxdiag and even what ISP you are with.
Additionally, I would suggest that if you are having connection issues to use PingPlotter against Tranquility's IP - 87.237.38.201, and report the results.

CTD while warping is due to an audio error. Disable audio and you will be fine. Any other errors, keep posting here.

Originally by: Real Poison i'm having random BSOD's since 2.2 originating from the Realtek HD Audo Driver. seems to happen mostly when going to warp.
and daily disconnects since months where the server cannot be found for about a minute (my connection stays up during that, because my iptv box runs during that disconnect without any hangs, and my routers log deosnt show anything, so connection is stable)
please run logserver and when you crash it will tell you the location of a crash dump if 1 is created. then please send both the crash dump and the logfile to us and we can take a look

Originally by: Zarox Ilphukiir Hi Folks,
I got the Connection Lost problem as well. I have it in connection with Random Eve crashes and a C++ Runtime Error. Since I installed the C++ Runtime Library Redistributional from MS the Crash happend less often and one time he made a big mistake. He wrote a dump.
So I did a analysis of the dump and could see that the python25.dll causes the crash. The funny thing ist that it tried to write into the memory at adress 0000000. This of cause caused a Access Violation and caused the crashe of the exe. I allready send the dump with a brief description of the symptoms and the steps I allready took to solve the problem to CCP but I got no reaction since. I posted this Monday morning the 19.11.07. Steps I allready did was analysing a network trace. What I could see is that the server stops to send TCP confirmation packages. This causes the Client to resent his package. This goes on and on until the server transmitts the error message you get by HTTP.
I excluded winsock, the IP stack, my router, my provider, my drivers, my hardware, AV Software etc. Every bloody thing a IT Support professional could thing of, but I still have the problem. Some of you mentioned to have this problem since the last Eve Patch. So I guess they messed something up in relation to the python25.dll
Lets hope they read my post at least and have a look at the dump. From my side it is quite clear a problem in theire responsibilty and not ours in terms of hardware, provider or network issues.
Kind Regards Zarox

Kind Regards -Zar
No, the https://bugs.eve-online.com Link is used specifically for reporting bugs you find within EVE.
Please take a look at this website also http://www.eve-bh.net as it will explain how to write a good Bug Report for us to take a look at. Please add all your findings and we will certainly take a look into this.
I must also mention that although you are trying to help us locate this bug it is against the EULA to modify the game client in anyway so please ensure you are not attempting this.
I hope to see your Bug Report soon! Thank you

FFS, the game is unplayable for many users and we have had no response from CCP. So now you're threatening people who are attempting to figure out the problem. That's great customer service!!
I am not threatening anyone, if you read what I posted I was simply informing him of the EULA to ensure the nice guy dosent get in trouble. If you are experiencing this issue also then I urge you to take a look at our website http://www.eve-bh.net and file a bug report as soon as possible for us to take a look at.

I'm afraid I do not have any progress on this issue as this is the first I have heard of it, I will have a bug reporter take a look into the bug not that it has been clearly reported. I am a volunteer (Not paid staff), part of the ISD division of CCP and as such cannot give you any offical statement. The best I can do is get this bug looked into and as soon as I hear anything from CCP I will get them to post here or I shall do so my self.

The Bug Report is filed. It became pretty massive so give them some time to work through all of it. I would have ben great if there where a response to this threat earlier on, but for whatever reason it wasnt. I concurre to say that this bad customer handling, but keep in mind that the Neerds sitting behind the development machines ususaly does not crawl the Forum for any signs of trouble. I have no Idear what went wrong on theire site to get aware of this problem earlier and take corrective meassures, but I am willing to give the support a fair chance to fix it.
As I know how hard it is to work under mounting pressure I offered them every support I can give on this Issue.
Thanks Sandin for your support, but I dont feel threatened by Sabaoth. However I agree that the game is unplayable.
Kind Regards Zarox
Thank you for reporting it Zarox and thanks for taking the time to look into the bug so extensively.

Originally by: Zarox Ilphukiir Hi Sabaoth,
I used the link your posted first: https://bugs.eve-online.com I filled in all the points with a very brief description. As I clicked the Submit button he showed a reference Number for the Bug report.
Of cause I neither did a backup of what I send in the Report, nor did I put down the Number somewhere.
The Bug report does not show up in "My Bug Reports".
Is there any mean to recover what was send to the server from the logs?
I mean he never showed a error like I should have been logged in with my account or something....
If rearly rearly neccessary I would write the Bug Report again (took me like a good hour), but the attached Files are on the Machine at home... So I can upload them only in 8 hours.
Regards Zarox
I'm afraid there isnt, if you could please write the bug report again that would be really helpful. I dont know why the bug report didnt get added to our list... very strange. Thanks for the help :)

Edited by: ISD BH Sabaoth on 21/11/2007 14:59:40 Zarox: I'm afraid there isnt a way to tell if you are still logged in, the only thing I can suggest is to copy everything you write into a text file and then login to the bug site and copy/paste the text into the correct fields and submit it.
I will ask QA to take a look at this thread, I am quite sure this issue is being looked into as CCP are very good at listening to their customers, the problem is that CCP are in 'crunch' time at the moment trying to get the patch ready for Christmas. This does not mean that they are not working on this issue, it just means that they dont have as much time as normal to reply to forum threads such as this.

I have recieved the Bug Report and have assigned it to a Bug Hunter for investigation, our test server (Singularity) has been down since yesterday morning so we cant start proper testing until this comes online again.
I will update when and if we find anything.

As promised I will share our findings with you. From what we have seen the C++ Runtime error happens when the clientÆs connection is dropped for an unknown reason. The C++ error is the client handling the drop of connection badly but is not the cause of the drop.
We believe this issue is something to do with the Internet Service Provider, more specifically cable providers. The Bug Hunter has attached her findings to the defect made for this bug so that QA can take a closer look into this issue.

Let me clear a few things up for everyone, I understand a lot of you are frustrated as would I but I assure you that this issue is being looked into.
Now onto what I did and did not say. I did NOT blame ISPÆs what I said was that æwe believeÆ the issue lyeÆs with the ISP. The C++ Runtime error that everyone is seeing is caused WHEN the connection drops and is not the cause of the drop.
Right now the investigation that the Bug Hunter has done is limited to the tools and access available to us as volunteers. We have compiled our report and QA will look at it shortly for further investigation.
I do apologise for the issues you guys have been having but as I am not a paid employee I cannot give you any official answer on this issue at present. I will however see what I can do about getting someone to respond to this thread.

Hi Guys, could you please try this - http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=620747 it may work for some people.
If a user is experiencing difficulties connecting to our default port for Tranquility, you may now have the option to use port 3724. We recommend this port only be used if you are not able to connect to port 26000. Since this is not the official EVE port, support for connection issues will be limited.
In order to use port 3724, it will be necessary to open your C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\settings folder if you use XP or C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\settings if you use VISTA and edit the PREFS.INI file. Please change the networkAdvanced=0 to networkAdvanced=1. You will notice that the Eve logon screen will now have a PORT option. Please type in 3724 into the box and connect as normal.
If this works for anyone, please post your feedback here so others may try.
Thanks
Garik BH, Captain
