I'm one of the Realtek users that had BSODs in the past. I'm happy to say the either the new sound engine or the new Realtek drivers have fixed this problem, so I can enjoy Eve in glorious 5.1 surround! Great job CCP on replacing that old piece of crap engine; EVE has sound!
However, I'm now getting some sounds twice. For example, when I warp, and I get that first "boom" when entering warp about 3 seconds later, I get another one. The other example I've noticed is when ratting the ships destruction boom does the same thing. Plays once when the destruction occurs then again a couple seconds later.
I haven't had a chance to test this completely, but fyi, I've got the newest Realtek drivers and I've got hardware acceleration turned off in EVE.
I can live with it tho, just wondered if anyone else is having this issue.
Sincerely, K'reemy ---
Uh oh...

yep, same here, noticed this after the patch.
same exact thing with the warp sound, BOOM, then seconds later, BOOM again. Another example is cloak sound when jumping through a gate and when decloaking to warp after the jump. nothing else repeats though, like speech or anything.
this is with both hardware accel on AND off.
I am using soundblaster X-FI latest drivers. WindowsXP -- Greater Love hath no man than this; that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Yeah same here. Warp boom and gate cloak are the 2 that got my attention. Gate cloak is very annoying/scary.

My guess, the double warp boom is your ship breaking the light barrier. If you go on a long warp the gap is longer, and if you go on a short warp it isn't heard at all. Those virtual reality guys, they keep tinkering. Last time it was that rattle in the warp drive, I had the engineers strip the whole thing down before I realised.

It looks like it has nothing to do with what sound driver you have since so many are reporting it with different sound cards, but i can see that it's already being looked at at our end.

lucky you... my Audigy 2 was causing CTD abour 50% of the time when I either warped into combat, or jumped a gate and entered combat. Turning off audio in the Esc menu seems to have done the trick... well, as far as I'm not CTD'ing, anyway...

Count me in. SB Audigy 2 vanilla with latest drivers, Asus M2N-E mobo, WinXP Pro 64-bit.
I just completely reformatted my PC last night and it did nothing to fix this problem.
Double warp booms, double explosions, double missile launch noises (which is noisy enough already!) etc. In fact it seems like every in-flight noise is duplicated.

A dev already said it's not related to your specific card, so posting it isn't helping... what you should do is file bug reports with logs. --- Proud Amarr pilot.
