I and a friend of mine are doing agents missions. I only do agent missions (only a few days ago I started doing other stuff), he does it for a few weeks now. And now look at those stuff: Zor Mission: both once
Implants: Me less than 5 (including the zor +4 perception implant), 4 exactly as far as I can recall. He: more than 30. Average 2-3 implants / day. And the char even is not his main char so he does not spend all time doing agent missions (in contrast to me, I do)
We have no idea why. My agents gave me implants so I know that they CAN give implants. We are both working for all kinds of different corps.
Anybody got any idea why there is such a big difference? It is hard for me to imagine that I just have bad luck. 6 times more implants is a lot, that can hardly be luck / bad luck.

From what I can tell, you are getting six times as many implants as I am... since castor I've had none at all. That includes missions that were supposed to drop +4 immediately after last patch (damsel) which for me dropped nothing... 4 times. Over approximately 2k missions.. could be more, I got tired of tracking it.
On the bright side, I've stopped wasting so much time online.... lol

yeah, it is very frustrating, read all the devs posts, tried all the stuff, etc. also they seem to not understand the stuff themselves as far as I can recall Smurf recently said that each declined mission adds 2 missions until the next important mission. so I choose a corp I don't care about, dock at a lvl3, decline 20 missions, and what do I get: an important mission. I did not complete a single mission for him before. Agents are really very bugged and I doubt I only have bad luck.

I'm also pretty sure I stated recently that CP4 fixes numerous issues related to important mission and implant frequencies, including a bug which would allow you to get away with the 20 decline syndrome.
As for Agents being really very bugged:
Cheers, Papa Smurf.

Yes, is bugged. Me and my friends lost months making thousands of mission with the best agents of different corps. We NEVER received an implants or a bp when others gain hundreds of millions each days only with implants.
It is better you stop laughing or you will find many player less, your concept to see customers like zoombie making stupid missions again and again and again for nothing is very limiting.

Do you both work for the same corporation
I know different corp types drop different implants, but I'm begining to think the the chance of certain missions is different between the corporations.
If this is true, then some corps could hand out a lot more implants than others, even without the mission decline fiasco. ----------------------------------------------- IÆm not schizophrenic... ThatÆs my alt

Just a confirm that the sistem is unbalanced or bugged. You receive 3 imp in 20 missions, i receive 0 imp in 2.000 missions.

Are you sure the corp you are working for actually gives implant rewards? I ask because not all of the corps do have implants to give out.

Edited by: Hellek on 09/02/2004 12:44:01 Well, I think I can tell anybody where I do my missions as I don't have to go to low-sec. and I don't think that anybody is too eager to do those agents anyway (as I had no luck with them). They are: - Kaalakiota Agent in Pimebeka (1 implant, did a few hundred missions, its my main agent as I am working on getting good standings towards Caldari) - Ministry of Internal Order Agent in Baviasi (tried the declining stuff here, got 1 or 2 implants until I lost the agent due to bad personal standings) - Amarr Constructions Agent in Tash-Murkon Prime - Viziam Agent in Uhodoh - Amarr Navy Agent in Diaderi (not doing him any more as most of his missions were in low-sec. and I lost a tempest there ... agents aren't worth that risk. But he was my best agent though, I got a +3 perception and zor (and the +4 perception) from him, that's about half of the implants I've got. Took me weeks to get those though) - Joint Harvesting Agent in Nehkiah
I also tried a few other agents but didn't do many missions for those others so I don't list them.

Edited by: Zrakor on 09/02/2004 12:41:52 Pirate factional corps (and until this patch Thukker Tribe and The Syndicate which are allied with a few pirate factions) do not dish out the implant courier-missions. The reason for this is that they will eventually hand out boosters instead.
The fact that implementation of boosters has taken far longer than I anticipated, I decided to allow Thukker Tribe and The Syndicate agents to hand out the courier missions with implants as a reward. But the pirate factions (Angel Cartel, Guristas, Bloodraiders, Sanshas Nation and Serpentis) will still not dish out implants, by design. You may however recieve an implant from a kill mission loot drop within factions that do not dish out the implant courier mission, although alot less frequently.

This doesn't happen anymore. I tested this with a couple of lvl3 agents... refused more than 30 mission for each. Didn't get offered any implant missions, or important missions. In the end, the agents simply stopped talking to me.
So they've successfully removed implant farming.

Good to know Scalor. Thanks for testing that. I always have to experience the first half day of patch through these boards while at work -- TomB: End the speed-race. 1 propulsion mod allowed, make turrets affect ship attributes like +speed/+ab speed +agil for progressivly smaller/lighter turrets, -speed/-ab speed -agil for long-range. |

It might still be possible to 'implant farm'... if those tougher kill missions drop implants.
Talking about those Damsel missions which involve a named thug to kill.
You could in theory only do those missions and refuse all the rest.
Just a theory, please comment.

That particular mission was first made important one, and now removed altogether... so looks like that's one hole plugged -.^

I think he might be refering to the Oufofofule-whatever-the-heck and Elena parts of "The Damsel" mission who sometimes drop basic implants (or, at least they did CP3).
My hope is that papa's statement
Quote: including a bug which would allow you to get away with the 20 decline syndrome.
means you can't decline a bunch in a row without the agent ceasing to talk to you, nor get enough IM's that way to keep your faction standing from plumeting sufficently to disuade people from doing it.

....so one extreme of the spectrum has been cropped... What about the other? How many people want to bet that many many players still get no imps after doing over 1000 missions for the same agent in a corp confirmed to give implants?

That's right. I've been declining boring mission and doing only these 'Damsel in Stress'. And that Olifamu (or whatever) did drop a +3 Perception implant.
So it's still possible to farm implants... but the missions are tougher now, those named thugs are quite nasty.

Something odd is happening. Haven't been offered a single 'The Damsel' mission since I mentioned it in this thread. Did they remove them alltogether?
Or made the damsel mission more rare?
All I can say now, is that refusing missions is no longer a viable career. You get offered nothing but boring missions.

Hmm, I bring the Damsel back, complete the mission, ask for a new one... and lo' and behold the silly girl managed to give my Agent the slip again.
Haven't seen a single Implant since previous patch tho'.

LOL! And apparently not too many interesting ones if you DON'T decline, either....
*still waiting for word on implant drops that deals with the low-end extremes* (mostly due to the fact I haven't seen an imp since Castor 1)

What happened to the players that farmed all the implants? Were there accounts banned? Or at least the farming characters deleted? Or did they get to keep all the implants? |
