I chose the Myridian strip because of its proximity to the Minmatar Republic and it's relative safety. While pirates do plague the area from time to time overall it is very safe. Off the beaten track the old closed resort inside the incredible gas cloud is a sight to behold. I went there to wait.
Now I can report the exchange has been completed although not without complication. Gulletsplitter entered the system alone as promised and followed my directions to the letter. A jettison capsule was created and the slaves were placed in it. He took the slaves and we began to move our ships apart... then it happend.
Several cloaked ships of unidentifiable model appeared and opened fire on my Bestower with multiple faction cruise missles. My ship was destroyed before I even knew what happend and a moment later I awoke in a clone vat in Domain.
TREACHERY!
To think these people would do such a thing to one who freed slaves is beyond comprehension. I have my suspicions about the nature of these unknown ships and who was flying them and rest assured an investigation will commence. My ships scanners and recorders automatically transmitted back to base the information on the ships but as you can see below little is known except for their expensive faction weaponry.
Name: Unknown - Data Errror Security: Unknown - Data Errror Alliance: Unknown - Data Errror Corp: Unknown - Data Errror Ship: Purifier Weapon: Caldari Navy Paradise Cruise Missile
Name: Unknown - Data Errror Security: Unknown - Data Errror Alliance: Unknown - Data Errror Corp: Unknown - Data Errror Ship: Manticore Weapon: Caldari Navy Devastator Cruise Missile
Name: Unknown - Data Errror Security: Unknown - Data Errror Alliance: Unknown - Data Errror Corp: Unknown - Data Errror Ship: Nemesis Weapon: XT-9000 Cruise Launcher
I personally after looking out the window at one of them believe they were FATEWEAVERS!
I could be incorrect but I don't believe so. While the markings on these ships were blacked out I recognized the pattern of attack and strongly suspect these are the culprits. Either way my investigation will commence and the truth will be discovered.

Although I do not regret this act to have taken place in the slightest, I deny any involvement from Fateweavers. You will have to prove your suspicions, Archbishop.

Colonial Fleet Services would like to announce the newest members of the Republic coming from Amarr space. A number of former slaves were freed via transfer to Gulletsplitter (Director of Mining and Capital Ship Construction). Archbishop willfully unshackled a number of our people due to the heroic actions taken by Jonas. JonasÆ actions in saving a number of his kin as well as a few Amarr are well documented at this point. Colonial Fleet is also pleased to announce that these families will be setup for skill training and employment opportunities as soon as they have cleared a security check by Republic Security in Gulmorogod. Further information about this fortunate group of individuals will be forth coming.
A quote attributed to Gulletsplitter
Quote: We are happy with the fact that these people were freed without resorting to bloodshed or monetary compensation. ArchbishopÆs choice can easily be a bridge that the more restrained Republicans can use to seek additional releases of our brethren.
As already noted the release was not without incident. First amongst them was the attack by unknown forces against the PIE personnel. This attack occurred during the hand off and was indeed most untimely. Colonial Fleet Services is an organization striving to make a difference via peace and prosperity in the Republic and lives of all Matari.
A second incident occurred in the Sin Kin facility in Vard shortly after the handover. One member of the freed party persisted in demanding to sermonize a refueling crew on his view of the sanctity of the Amarr religion. This preaching caused a near riot in the hangers and Sin Kin officials promptly asked Colonial Fleet Services to remove the full party until Republic Security Services could clear the entire party.

Edited by: Nachshon on 02/09/2007 23:10:55 I seriously doubt Fate Weavers would attack you, Archbishop. I wouldn't have attacked you had I been there, despite the fact that we are at war - in recognition for this act.
Perhaps someone might have wished to implicate Fate Weavers in attacking you?
Actually, I have a better explanation. Some pirates, who coincidentally bore similar patterns to FTW, saw your Bestower, and figured you were an easy target. ____________________________________ Caldari by birth, Minmatar by citizenship.

Do you know of any such pirate organization operating in the area Nachshon?
The fact that they fired on an unarmed transport would not surprise me, but it's rarely the action of pirates to attack empty cargo-ships.
Due to the fact that a priest was viciously attacked in an unarmed vessel on a mission of peace I'm launching an investigation of the events leading to the brutal attack to release our findings at a later date.

I am pleased he was kept safe. As I said many of these Minmatar are very near Enlightenment. They will not easily go down the path of terror some such as Electus Matari, Fateweavers or UshraKhan would have for them. I thank Colonial Fleet Services for their assistance in this exchange and promise to find those responsible for this heinous attack.

Originally by: Nachshon An inspiring account, Archbishop. This man is a hero, by any definition.
he is a hero for attempting to save human lives he is a hero for trying to save fellow slave's lives
is he a hero for saving slavers?
I leave this question unanswered. I am happy for his clan - as brainwashed they might be ("close to enlightment")
I would suggest to brief them. If they start preaching the words of "god" in minmatar land they might not receive the warm welcome they hope for. But i trust, EM has a plan for a sensible re-integration into the minmatar republic.
This could be a hoax, and Archibishop could be sending a couple of his implant/vitoc controlled slave-drones to the republic to increase Amarr influence on Matari politics even more than already done in the past. (i referr to the illegal execution of karishal which was the result of a "agreement/pressure between amarr and minmatar gvt)
Paranoidity aside, assuming it is like it has been announced - i can only hope there is a future where one human saves the lives of other humans instead slave / master - as already quoted by someone before me.

I don't, actually. I'm not familiar with the area. And there are pirates who are vicious enough that they would attack an empty transport just for the easy kill.
Still, carry out your investigation. ____________________________________ Caldari by birth, Minmatar by citizenship.

I have found a tracer of unknown origin on the ship that was used for hand off. It was placed in some foodstuffs purchased a few days prior to me make the trip to Ezzara. I do not have the capability to reverse engineer or trace this item. Undoubtly the attackers were the ones who placed it aboard my ship.
