I deleted my Cache the other night, since then i appear to be missing certain sound effects such as the sound of the jumpgates activating. I have the latest drivers for my soundcard.
Any ideas folks? |

Got this as well.. although I've lost most sounds altogether.. no engines, no weapons, no gates.. I've got UI sounds and warp drive noise, but that's about it |

i got the exaclty same problem.. only warpdrive and UI sounds

Reinstalling only made matters worse for me, as it somehow unlocked some kind of graphics bug, where portraits and ship/item icons look pixelated and choppy.. |

I'm having the same problem, albeit it's only the weapon sounds that are missing. Anyone tried downloading the .stuff files, applying them, then re-patching yet? If not, I will.

Nope, just tried that ^^^^^ and it didn't work. In fact, Eve wouldn't even launch. When exploring the stuff files, I did see the sounds in there, it just seems that something in the new build won't play them (at least on my machine).

I have the same problem but have noticed that if you go look at and zoom in really close to things u can hear sounds.

thats right! but i dont want to always have to zoom around to hear anything.. CCP! PLEASE FIX IT!

Well, I've already reported it as a bug and included the URL of this thread, so hopefully they will get on it. If you haven't already, it might be an idea for you all to bug report it as well to get their attention.

Got this one as well when I reinstalled EVE today. I used the latest build from their site instead of my own CD. Could this have anythin to do with the build itself?
It's really annoying!

I tried to reinstall using the same build, only this time I re-downloaded it from the server. Can't tell if that made any difference, but now everything's working ok. :)

Well, I did a clean reinstall, meaning I swiped the entire folder where EVE was installed. I then downloaded the latest build once again and installed. That's it...
