why would aliens want to visit? seriously, in some parts people are dieing from hunger/thirst, other parts people are dieing to each other cause of a slight variation in religion, and most of the other parts dont care and are poisoning/devastating the planet with noxious gasses and.
if you were an alien, would you want to visit this place? personaly, I'd put some observers around it and at the first sign that such a planet was able to spread out into the galaxy I'd wipe them out so theye cant damage any more of the galaxy.
Do I believe theres life somewhere else then on this planet? yes, i believe there's planty of life out there. Some of it is bound to be inteligent too :)

Originally by: Captain Hudson What if everything we know or we think we know about space, time, physics, etc is actually wrong and it is entierly possible to travel from one side of the galaxy to the other in a matter of hours or something.? . I mean we have only been to our moon and make our assumptions from things we know about our planet.
I think that if aliens do come or have come, that they proberly have been going wtf at us and our crazy ideas of time and space.
there's that too. I mean 700 years ago everybody knew the world was flat, and that the sun was orbiting around the planet. 110 yeas ago the fastest way to communicate with someone on the other side of the planet was to write a letter and then use sail ships to deliver it. Nowadays we simply bounce some radiowaves of satalites.
Heck, if you could go back in time, say, 30 years and then try to explain to someone that over 30 years he'd be playing videogames(hmm, try to explain that first) on a telephone he'd be carrying with him. WTF! Or even more fun, go back 60 years and try to explain heavy metal music :D

People who seriouslt beliv in UFO's are irrational.
no, people who reject the possibility of space travel casue of technical imposibilities are being irrational.
Take Jules Verne for example. In 1860 or so he wrote a book about some people traveling to the moon. Madness! but 100 years later there's neil armstrong taking a small step.
There's the flat earth, the sound barrier, flight! just to name a few things that were prooved to be true at some point.
Just take a look at the technological advance we made over the past 100 years.
it is irrational to do away with space travel simply because of present day limitations and "proof" that its impossible.

Yeah, and over 1000 years ago some guy in a dessert wrote a 'holy' book, but thats not really a valid argument for the existance of god now is it?
nope, but it doesnt disproove it either.
but that isnt my point. My point is, that in the timespan of 100 years(heck even 10 years before armostrong went to the moon people didnt even think it was possible) technology went from "not possible" to done just saying, dont claim someting is impossible just because current technology is not capable of it

Yeah. There are plenty of videos of crafts flying in a straight line too. Generally called balloons, despite flying against the wind. But why take notice of minor details like that. Lets make a joke instead. :)
flying against the wind at the surface, or flying agaisnt the wind at the altitude where it is?(and if so, how is it certain at what altitude the balloon is flying?)
also, on the alien abduction thing, there's a sleep-induced paralysis that usualy happens when you're asleep(duh), but sometimes(very rarely) people are sort-off awake at that point, and in between awake and dreaming. Americans tend to halucinate theye're beening abducted by aliens. In other cultres people experience other things(ghosts or demons for example)
Like I said, I do believe there's life out there, and that it's possible to travel from there to here. But I really doubt if theye are here that theye will be stikking stuff off some common people butts, or mutilate cows or destroy grain fields. Well except perhaps as some weird experiment to see how we react to it, or more likely as part of some comedy show or competition/bet(who can make the prettiest crop drawings, or who can screw with some poor blokes head the most)
