Really though that was hilarious and almost exactly what I thought would happen with this tournament. The amount of personal vendetta's in this thread is astounding as well.
This is the worst troll attempt I've ever seen, and since I'm a member of GoonFleet it's up against some pretty stiff competition.
(FNLN always gets his.)

Seriously, some closure would be nice. Even something like "yeah, maybe that wasn't the best call ever, but it's too late to go back on it, sorry guys" would be better than nothing.
are you REALLY waiting for a GM to post so you can cry more?

Honestly you shouldn't stage out of jita...
But yeah they should have just continued with the match and figured something out later on.

Rules Rules Rules.....
If it is true that the Goons were assembled at the beacon, and neither team had warped into the arena ("battlefield"), then no rule was broken. If that is true, then the GMs had the opportunity to correct the situation and instead decided to disqualify the team.

Edited by: Malar on 02/09/2007 09:12:59 Edited by: Malar on 02/09/2007 09:12:11 I'm absolutely with ya on this one goons. Although im no big fan of your alliance, i do think that everyone deserves a fair treatment and to be handled with good will. Having one too many cruiser in a gang is hardly an intentional offense against the rules. After all, come on.. who would try to 'cheat' by bringing in too many ships?
Solution would have been simple: Gang leader just names one pilot, who gets teleported out.. / dropped from the gang. Problem solved.
I didnt see the broadcast yesterday, but i do assume, that the miscount was discovered before the fight started, so it would have fitted in with the schedule without problems.
Anyways, i seriously ask CCP to reconsider this decision, as i find it unfair and against the spirit of this championship (or any other championship for that matter). Not to mention, that the decision shows signs of unfair treatment as well. The penalty was not on par with the offense committed. --------------------------------------------- *Comments in this post are mine and mine only* |

Ronin thought the decision was a bit harsh. We were looking forward to this match most out of all our group stages so very disapointing for us.
Personally I suspect this is the final decision but we'd be more than happy to give the goons a rematch someplace.
(after we've won the tournament of course )
I hope you have better luck and fairer treament in your other matches goons.

Goonswarm forfeited their match against The Ronin because they brought too many points worth of ships (apparently they accidentally brought one of their back ups). Drama ensues. ------

Goons miscount, sorry, no, you can't drop one of your ships! sorry!
Dear Eve TV, I hope you see how impossibly stupid every single one of you are.
What are you alleging? I mean, what did MC do?
I cannot support the Goonies on this one as they clearly broke the rules, even though it was an emergency DC they were trying to fix. BUT if MC broke the rules and were not DQ'ed; well, prepare for the forums to be brought down again.

So bringing 109 points of ships in checking out what your oponents were flying and droping the ship you considered to be the least use is not a bootable offence?.

As has already been said, there are staging areas where the GM's check everyone is obeying the rules before the two teams ever see each other.
Take off the tinfoil, mate, they're not stealing your thoughts. ------

Ok il rephrase as you missed what i meant;
So bringing 109 points of ships in an attempt to check out what your oponents were flying and droping the ship you considered to be the least use is not a bootable offence?.
Shall i insert the word failed as in failswarm or leave it as it is?

While it is possible that Goonswarm attempted to cheat in the most stupid possible way, ignoring something that was clearly outlined in GM Nova's rules weeks ago, it is unlikely. It's also possible that George Bush is a space lizard, but it too is unlikely.
The explanation that they had connection problems (in EVE? Never!) and*****ed up when trying to get their team together, accidentally bringing one of their "in case of missing team member" back ups with them, seems infinitely more likely.
Still stupid though
They shouldn't have been allowed to play simply because thats what it looks like it says in the rules, and rules are rules (however unfair it seems). But I wish they had done- I was looking forward to seeing the GS vs RONIN match. ------
