(For you Windows/Windows Media Player folks)
1. Close Windows Media Player.
2. Download and run WMVPostProcess.
3. Uncheck the "automatic" box.
4. Drag the bar all the way to the right.
5. Re-open EVETV.
Notice the mysterious disappearance of a lot of the blockiness during the fights 
(Note that its recommended you drag it back afterwards. Also note it doesn't work in Windows 95/98/ME.)
(Also note it won't work on slow computers.)

I'm using it with Winamp, but not really noticing a lot of difference.

It may work with Windows Media Player only, not sure.
Basically what it does is blur out all of the blockiness. And tbh I prefer a bit of blurriness to the blockiness.

What's the issue with not dragging it back afterwards? As I understand, WMP will be using more CPU, but that's not really a problem with my dual core...

The point is that deblocking and deringing are only useful on low quality videos, like the stream. If the video is really high quality to begin with, they'll make it worse.

No difference for VLC it seems, but it has its own postprocessor which i just activated, thanks for the hint  .

Yeah, VLC uses its own internal decoder and postprocessor, so that works also
