Today I have started an agent mission in Gallente space, and alas, it seems to be an unresolveable task.
Fugitive Hideout =======================
Objectives ----------------------- To complete the mission, the following must be performed by you: fifteen units of Criminal DNA must be provided at Oursulaert IX - Federation Customs Testing Facilities
HINT ----------------------- In this mission you need to find a scenario called a "Fugitive Hideout". Some scenarios, such as these, are clearly marked on the map, and should be easily found once you know the general location, and do not require a bookmark to find. In this mission your agent has revealed 3 constellations where your targets could be located at, use the ingame map to navigate through this area and search for the Fugitive Hideout scenario. Once you have found it, warp to it and engage the futitives. Your agent wants 15 units of Criminal DNA delivered to him, keep destroying the fugitives until you have recovered that many units of Criminal DNA into your cargo hold and then return to your agent with the loot.
I am unable to see any "scenario" on the map, and since I'm no spoilsport I have also been flying around in many sectors surrounding my original one, through all three regions, but couldn't find anything to shoot at that would look like a fugitive.
I have browsed a little through the forum and had an eye out for a solution for this particular problem, but as of yet I haven't found any. I would appreciate if someone knows a solution, I have already lost my bonus for this mission, and would not like to fail it.

Edited by: Wraeththu on 09/02/2004 21:07:01 have you tried warping to one of the 3 systems it says in the screen and hitting F-11 to bring up the system bar-map on the side? A lot of times POI/LCO's appear on that map that otherwise don't appear anywhere else?
Just an idea.
Edit: Btw, you doubly sure you didn't get a bookmark? At least Pre-CP4, every scenario mission I've gotten came with a bookmark
-- TomB: End the speed-race. 1 propulsion mod allowed, make turrets affect ship attributes like +speed/+ab speed +agil for progressivly smaller/lighter turrets, -speed/-ab speed -agil for long-range. |

Yes, I did. But it isn't just three systems to search anyway, I would have to hunt through three entire regions, and those are not too small.

Yes, definitely.

Nobody having a clue about this mission? Since I do not seem to be the only one experiencing difficulties, it would be handy to have a way of general approach at least.

Maybe you have to check each planet/moon/asteroid belt in the system and use the scanner from each in turn, in order to be close enough for the scanner to find it.
That makes it a fantastically long and boring mission, though I suspect we must be missing something simple.

Here's the full mission brief:
Fugitive Hideout =======================
Mission briefing: ----------------------- We have a rather nasty situation on our hands. Blayme Eyghotelle, our CEO, recently ordered an internal investigation concerning the leaking of extremely classified information to one of our rival establishments within the Caldari State. It was then discovered that a few of our very own members were responsible! Blayme Eyghotelle has made the capture of these rats a top priority. Shortly after an official warrant was released to search their appartments here in Oursulaert IX - Federation Customs Testing Facilities, they disappeared. We have reported sightings of them in a few constellations, namely Verge Vendor, Essence and Sinq Laison. I suggest you travel through these constellations and search for the fugitives, their hideout is no doubt located somewhere in the area. They couldn't have gone far as we have surveillance monitors equipped with cargo scanners near all of the jumpgates in the region. We do not expect them to return to us willingly, they will no doubt put up a fight. I expect you to destroy them, and return their DNA to me as evidence which we need to present to Blayme Eyghotelle. I've uploaded some extra information into your mission journal to help you on your way, open it through the NeoCom menu.
Objectives ----------------------- To complete the mission, the following must be performed by you: fifteen units of Criminal DNA must be provided at Oursulaert IX - Federation Customs Testing Facilities
Rewards ----------------------- Upon completing the mission, the following will be awarded to you: twelve thousand credits
Bonus Rewards ----------------------- The following bonuses may be awarded to you: fifteen thousand credits - will be yours if you complete the mission in 1 hour
HINT ----------------------- In this mission you need to find a scenario called a "Fugitive Hideout". Some scenarios, such as these, are clearly marked on the map, and should be easily found once you know the general location, and do not require a bookmark to find. In this mission your agent has revealed 3 constellations where your targets could be located at, use the ingame map to navigate through this area and search for the Fugitive Hideout scenario. i have this mission also, and am completely confounded as to how to go about it. i really hope its a mistake, as to search 3 entire regions would be somewhat ridiculous surely?

Well, if they don't fix this problem soon, we well have half gallente pilots looking for this damn "fugitive hideout" on those 3 regions!!!
Maybe it's that what they want!!!

I would suggest looking under the options of the F10 map, and look for a selection called ôLabelsö, in there perhaps will turn on the information about these scenario locations that the mission guidelines refer to as being visible on the map.

Tried the labels. Didnt find anything there that could help.
I'm guessing there is something wrong with this mission... it just makes no sense. I've even tried jumping to the 3 regions in consecutive order and ended up in some system that was a part of all regions. Scanned it thoroughly with no result :(

Yes, a handsome reward for digging through 3 regions :)
I wonder why they called Verge Vendor, Essence and third one as "Constellation" ? Seems as bug to me.

Got the same mission. My idee was to do missions for another agent, and guess what. Got the same mission from that to!
The one that find a spot could sell bookmarks to stupid agent hunters like me .

Edited by: Elithiomel on 10/02/2004 10:54:17 Verge vendor, Essence and Sinq Laison are regions, not constellations. If it was 3 constellations i dont think it would be too much of a problem. Constellations are usually 5-10 systems. But asking for 3 REGIONS to be searched for a piddly 27k reward is just mad. --------------------------------------------- Engineers motto; If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks it needed replacing anyway. |

I reported this as a bug last night, so it should be interesting to see what the outcome is, also filed a petition and a GM aborted the mission without it effecting my standing with the agent.
I would like to do this mission, just to see if I could do it in my ship, but taking into account this was the thrid mission for my first agent after training, I hope it's a very easy one to do. A Velator with the same guns as when I started might not be upto this I think....

Edited by: Zrakor on 10/02/2004 13:39:19 This mission will be fixed tomorrow. The scenario Fugitive Hideout was supposed to be ported to Tranq during the patch but wasn't, which will be corrected tomorrow. Also the player will be given constellation locations instead of regional, as they were supposed to. Sorry for the inconvenience.

After I screwed up the first version of that mission (or rather, aborted it after 90 minutes) it showed up again (skipped it). So you can get it again.

Indeed, I'm afraid the mission is still bugged. It would be very nice to have it fixed asap, seeing that it makes continuous, successful mission running quite impossible.

I saw a fugitive sign in pator recently, so i guess someone is looking for that spot. i warped out there to check and there was alot of fugitive angels or something at 2k bounty to kill for the person who got the mission. the symbol was like the training ground symbol

Good news everyone! I managed to finish the mission.. I haven't read all the threads yet, so maybe someone else also did it. I noticed a new symbol in space (markings like stargates and stations etc.) It said Fugitive Hideout. I guess it's been fixed.. 15 units of DNS stuffing gives about 15 fugitives. Each fugitive got a bounty on its head. About 2000ISK * 15 = 30000ISK extra.. I'm content =)

I've got one location, 4 jumps from Amarr.
Location contains 7x "Blood Fugitive", 1 beacon, 1 asteroid station, 2x debris, 3x Asteroid shard, lots of asteroids (veld->kernite)
Stumbled upon it myself as I was looking for ok systems to mine:)
Ask me ingame and send me 50.000 and I'll give the system name

Both the asteroid station and the beacon are called "Fugitive hideout", and I'm pretty sure this location did not exist a couple of days earlier, so to me it seems very likely one of the locations for this mission.
(I can't be bothered to fit weapons on my miner to check the drop from the blood fugitives though)
And it's worth 50.000 just for the look of it

Fugitive hideout can be found here:
in Metropolis region Elgoi Leurtmar
In Heimatar region Pator Ameinaka
I'm sure they can be found in a lot of other systems too
