i hear it is because the macro farmers and the gold-isk sweatshop farmers got together and petitioned ccp
that was all a distraction while they all got on a boat and came to london to sabotage the servers

If server is up then it has to be some major routing issue to the servercluster then.
Maybe during DT their hosting center developed some major routing issues.
It'll surely already have been noticed by ISP and/or CCP it this is the case..

Status "Unknown" on both TQ and Sing. Evemon also shows the server offline. UK ISP (TalkTalk).

Funny, I logged in the first belt of a system where this farmer works, I was planning to insta-login after DT and hopefully land on the guy.

I correct myself - the server is pingable and traceroute succeeds.
It has to be a problem at the server cluster itself, problems accepting connections.
Then it does not matter from where you would connect one might conclude.

Same, no problems pinging, and EVE-DT (firefox) is reporting server status fine - still no client connection

I assume they will do a cluster reboot in a minute.
This surely has been noticed by CCP.

there appears to be nothing wrong with the cluster atm.
Application started: 2007.09.03 11:31:33 Uptime: 01:20:29
normally there is about 15-17k people online about now and currently the proxy servers are listing :

Edited by: Cralla on 03/09/2007 13:00:56 OK, weird.
Still client keeps 'checking status...' and then to 'Status unknown'.
Hitting 'connect' says 'establish connection to server' in the popup dialog, but then turns up:
"Could not connect to the specified address. Odds are that you have not established an internet connection, the server isn't running, or the server address or port number was wrong.".
Routing problem after all one would suggest but why does pinging/tracerouting give no problems then.. Weird..
EDIT: Are you sure the cluster is still aceppting NEW connections to it as we speak?

Edited by: althan gnartians on 03/09/2007 13:06:22 exefile have a tendency to hanging once it gets it first server unavability error and simply dont detect any changes, you all need to restart eve complete i.e. kill the process and phaps if the problem is some sort of dns cache gone corrupt reboot the system.

OK, then this problem makes totally no sense at all..
Both of my accounts (read: both of my eve installations) will not find the server, in the way described above. ATM I can't test if from other locations (I'm in Germany myself), but seems (judging from the reactions in this thread so far) people have similar problems from all kinds of locations still.
But then again, 17K players have connected without problem.
Beats me.

Chicago, USA - ISP: Comcast
Can't connect. Status: Unknown (been checking for about 1.5 hours)
Tried bypassing my router to connect directly to the modem, no dice. Played several other online games to check and was playing before downtime.
Hope it gets remedied sooner than later.

right.
Proxy Servers (17730 online)
i'm looking at this on the server and i can see nothing wrong in the logs. i can also see that there is alot of people still connecting. i'm talking with a ISD member who is having the same problem as everyone else and it's clearly a problem with her ISP.
i'm trying to work out where the problem is, but until then i have no reason to believe it's the cluster.

OK, lets' await the outcome of that a bit then, since there's nothing we can do to resolve this anyway.
I'm not saying it's a cluster issue but it also does not SEEM to be a routing issue because of the successful pings/traceroutes to server IP address.
And if there's logging on our side that might provide insights i'd be happy to provide it.
Please update us on what you'll find.
