everyone knows that lotteries and betting schemes in EVE are all scams...... writing draconian measures like BIG did as a term of service for entering a bet is way of scamming people out of hard earned ISK. It's what insurance companies do.
Eden needs to read the terms of service better, BIG should get their altcorp raped to kingdom come. go get them EDEN, an next time, RTFM. ----------------------------------------------- "post with your main. delete your alt, you sad little exploiting metagamer."

-YOU are responsible for getting it right -YOU are responsible for double checking your work -NOWHERE in the world, either real or game, will reimburse you for YOUR mistakes, as per their own rules they provided you with lottery tickets as compensation, and yet you still whine like a 5 year old
Hey braincell, why don't you do yourself a favour and zip that vomit spewing trap of yours ? all I see is post after post of your spiteful garbage, and it's you that looks like a particularly nasty little child, no one else, your a walking advert as to why there should be a stupid test to even access the internet.

Fact, some people ain't the best spellers (I am dyslexic myself, I can spell words and write numbers backwards and they look fine to me...kinda annoying!) and moreover, many people are not great typers, some people don't even speak or write english well as it's a second or third language. The motive to have such stringent rules in a computer game played by every nationality is very questionable, and being of the cynical mind I am, the motive presents itself clearly as a way for them to aquire capital, not a means of saving themselves the precious seconds (less time than they spent writing out a reply?) of altering an entry.
DHB, the Sword is mightier than the Pen, good luck! But perhaps they will give in to reason first and see how silly this rule is.

they are one of those net trolls that WRITE IN CAPITALS, and yeah they talk crap to boot, using Baseless RL comparisons, infantisation combined with 'cry' - a classic troll effemination word - of the OP to offend them, and topping it off with some trite 'you are responsible for your actions!111'. Find them on every internet forum trying to get people to react 'cos it's the only way people ever talk to them.

It's still theft via some archaic, brittle clause.
BIG is doing themselves no favours getting this kind of attention.

That's a very novel idea. Blatantly listing the rules for exactly what happens when a person can't follow instructions. Isn't that kind of risky? That's just asking for a host of people calling them dishonest when they follow exactly what they said/printed and stick by it.

As TornSoul said in his reply, if he afforded one character special treatment against the rules, he would have to afford them all the same treatment. So BE's mistake is assuming they can be granted special treatment for the perceived threat they pose.

On the other hand. Burn Eden has always maintained that if you cross them, they blow you up and take your stuff. *shrug* i see nothing wrong here
To take your IRL comparison further. If a bookie refused to fix a similar citeuation, I'd expect to find him at a hospital with broken knees shortly after. __________________________________ Gallente by birth. Amarr by choice. iDrone |

Big Games already know there WILL be misspelled bets, its the simple curve, 25%, 50%, 25%.
what they've done is low. earning a buck by preying on those that err. a low thing to do, even if it was "declared" as a rule. 100mil are not a small amount of isk.
to the OP: give me a shout when you find them, ill hook up with you.

those top 4 examples are actually liability rather than reimbursement and only applicable in real life because certain things don't carry certain warnings, hence while lawsuits have become more common health and safety precautions have gone through the roof there are a few legal loop holes there but there mostly getting closed now.
The one about on-line shops taking product your unsatisfied with back isn't a legal requirement unless there's a fault with the product its just a sign of good faith and a good policy but those kinda shop usually have the resources and staff (which are paid not volunteers) to deal with returns.
To the actual issue at hand.
Rules clearly stated, it is the responsibility of the client to make sure rules are met no exceptions. The second BIG breaks the rules for one person it has to break it for all which means alot of resources wasted on verifying if a claim something is incorrect is a valid claim, which BIG simply cannot do, so they opt for the safest policy, client screws up its their fault and its clearly stated, doesn't matter if its 1isk or 1 trillion isk same policy for everyone. Or you end up with scenarios like those that happened when t20 was caught with spawned t2 bpos on tq.
If you want a more accurate example that's closer to real life, lets talk about bookies you place a bet, that's it no matter what you put down on the betting slip your money is taken no changing it a few minutes later even if you've spelt it wrong.
