Althought I've played eve through beta and since 1 day after release I've met loads of people explored every industry in eve, but why is it? that even tho I dont lose too many ships I'm never a rich guy?
I mean my wallets never exceeded 3billion for about 1 week then sank to just a few 100mil now its sitting on a pretty 900k isk,
Why is that? You'd have thunk that since i've played so long i'd be "LOADED" but nah, Where am I going wrong? -------------------------------------------

You lack the wits or ambition to be rich.
Best way to make easy ISK in my book is to lie/scam/kill. It just so happens that that's where my passion and ambition lies.

age doesn't come into the high money making stakes all that much, but attention to detail and a capitalistic mindset will see you raking it in.
bpo's used to be the jackpot, but plenty of people have made their billions without one of those.
I'm in the same boat, I can make the money to keep me in a battleship, but not anything bigger

Lowsec Lvl 4 missions, Tech 2 lottery and buying stuff of auctions and marked to sell with profit. Thats where my isk comes from. 100 mill a day is easy doing missions.

Edited by: Steini OFSI on 04/09/2007 23:29:00 Your wealth is probably in assets.
Sell all you got and won't use the next 2 months (i.e. you have a black ops ship with a cloak but you're really never gonna use it) and you'll have loads of money.
I considered myself poor until I cleared many of my unused hangars here and there.
Edit: Or you were a communist and helped your corp and somebody else reaped your efforts.

Because time doesnt mean squat, it's what you do with it. You might as well suggest that a 70 year old should naturally be able to benchpress more than a 20 year old because he has more physical experience.

Though I'm younger than you I came back recently with 300k in wallet and just a Brutix I had to sell to get back my impounded BPOs.
So I was in bad mood and decided to cash in my research points (I started the projects 2 years before). The first agent was gallentean startship engineering I had about 150k sp that gave me 1100 datacores. About 100k each. Nice but that's not more than a BS.
Then I went to see the 2 other agents, which where Molecular and Nanites, and that was how I became billionaire... I got 600M from the second agent datacores and 1500M of the third. I spent all in BPOs and minerals, it will eventually pay off in 2 or 3 monthes, back to 100M in wallet now but that was a nice surprise.
Check your research projects maybe?

It depends how dedicated you are to some things.
When i need isk, i find it when i don't need isk i have no income,
I got 40+ Bill in assets but you'd never know it looking at my wallet which is at a few million. you don't need isk to have fun in this game, just has you don't need to have money in real life to have fun either.
Most people enjoy just making it by week to week, and working for what they need, Why have a 3 Billion in your wallet of fake money when your not going to spend it.
I find most people get board with them the game when they are sitting on stock piles of isk, but not really doing anything about it.

Edited by: Lira Lu on 05/09/2007 02:03:50 Never had more than 2.4 billion either and it didn't last very long. I usually have not more than a few hundred millions. Mostly lost ships, some gtcs, skills, that's where my isk went. I don't rat often and pvp with random gangs and fleet isn't really profitable, because some greedy frig pilot usually grabs the loot.
Think being in a pvp alliance with a small corp with many currently inactives hurts our wallets too. PvP alliances are demanding and moan, if alliance participation isn't good and small corps get the beating first. So instead of sitting in belts for hours to make isk like others, we old players have to grab an expensive ship to appear at least a bit pro, join some gang to get seen and appear on some killmails to make everyone happy.
So guess I'm never going to be real rich, until we friends say screw it, disband corp, join some big rich corp and do what everyone else does to become a rich pvp'er.
Well, you are in M.Corp, which is big, so guess that plan doesn't work either.

As far as I can tell, "rich PvPer" is a myth. Nearly all of the PvPers I know have alts they use to fuel their main's needs.

Sell your character. You'll be RICH!
On a more serious note, that guy joking about not speaking Russian or Chineese may have been on to something. I'm fluent in Russian, and I've been comfortably well off ever since I started Eve (luck had a huge amount to do with that though).

Shoot me down if I'm wrong, and I know there'll be exceptions (god only knows I'm an exception) but spare 1 and a half months from your main's training and you can have a pretty damn good industry alt to fuel you with AFK income. It might only be a 2-3 mil a day, depending on what you train and build, it may be 5-10 mil a day. You make lots more of that ratting every day I'm sure but the trick is that cash is made away from the keyboard.
I rekon a lot of people forget they have 3 characters per account, and use one for a forum alt *****.

You can make 15 to 20 mil an hour running L4 missions. Two hours a night=100mil a week. Safe, easy and only a little boring. -- (Battle hardened industrialist)

I beg to differ. I've done a lot of missions and now only help corpmates to get some standings these days.
100m a day is easy to make on missions, yes, but that only counst of you indeed have the time to spend an entire fricking day at it The regular lv 4 runner that workds during daytime or logs off from time to time to go kiss his wife doesn't get billionaire soon
Trading is the way to go... and generally large investments tend to give bigger profit. So once you have a good amount of isk you can make a bigger one.

Did you never take the time to get an alt running a 200 man high sec corp?
Step 1. Make alt. Train Hyperion, like 9 days tops.
Step 2. Create 30 trial accounts, 3 alts per account, and put them in the corp. Employment history showing 3 people joining every 10 minutes on one particular day. (You'll want an office in a newbie starter system for this part of the project)
Step 3. Fly round the belts in your pro hyperion impressing all the newbies. Recruit newbies into your "90 man" corp.
Step 4. Profit!!!!!!!!!
Step 5. Log on to the forums with your "pro" pierate alt and tell everybody how uber you are at funding your Piracy by blowing people up.
