Darriuss	Posted - 2007.09.07 02:21:00 - [1] has anyone done this lvl4 mission? it doesn't seem to matter wht shield hardeners i use they chew through my shields in no time. anyone have any ideas?

zattariss	Posted - 2007.09.07 04:14:00 - [5] You need to fit an omnitank (all damage types) and fit for EM damage. In addition, to my knowledge...Once you kill a frigate, 3 battleships will spawn. So you want to kill 1 frigate, then the battleships, then a second frigate etc.

Optimal 22,500m Falloff 35,000m The last BS spawn are called "Supreme Alvum's" they do 80% Thermal 20% Kinetic. Optimal 25,000m falloff 35,000m The Bombers do Explosive.

I have gotten very lazy and now use an omni tank, dual Navy Invulnv, EM hardener and DC II. The only one I move around these days seems to be the primary dmg for obvious missions. Aka Gurista gets a Kinetic slapped in. Keep trying and no, not seen a single level 4 harder....

I find the rigs have totally changed the mission running experience, its like having a couple extra slots. I used to sweat on a lot of missions ,but now they seem so easy and safe. I guess they are still hard for those with lower skills/experience. Time for us to get into those T2 BS and move on to lvl V's. saying a lvl 4 mission is "easy" is the same as making the same comment to someone who has just started lvl 3's. We are all piling up in the lvl 4 bin with nowhere to go.

If you kill all triggers right at the start though it becomes very hard indeed, but I expect thinking beings not to do that ;) LOL well i targetted whtever spawned first, since they were already targetted i killed them all first hehe. i guess that is why it was difficult. why is a scorp not a good ship for missions? its a good tank. poor dps but i usually bring in my alt for extra dps in a drake

Also an awesome tank and you'll have about the same damage as just the scorpion. Ravens are much better for missions. You get rof bonuses to torps and cruise missiles meaning tons of damage against rats. The tank sucks but as long as you don't agro everything at once you should be ok.

Allestin Villimar	Posted - 2007.09.08 01:34:00 - [18] I run L4s in my drake and I usually don't have to warp out as long as I'm not tanking more than 6 battleships, and while some battleships are hard to break the tanks on, I haven't found anything that I can't break yet. My set up is: 7x heavy launchers, 1x drone link augmentor (anything can go in the 8th slot, really) 3x Large Shield Extender T2, 2x Passive rat specific resist t2, 1x invuln field t2 (I swap this out for a shield recharger if I'm fighting guristas or angels - I just don't need the resists) 3x Shield Power Relay T2 (the best named T1 stuff is just as good but more expensive) 1x BCU T2 3x Core Defence Purger Rigs 5x rat specific t2 light scout drones to take care of frigs and help bring down BSs.

And if you ask questions first and shoot later (i.e. manage triggers) it can tank everything thrown at you too. I have yet to see rats chew through my shileds like they did. I do admit, I was not paying attention to the triggers and I was in a Drake. Not the best ship for L4s, but I was testing the waters to see what they were like. I still need to up my skills, but it seemed like I wasn't doing much damage with heavy missles.
