CCP Recently Broke supers.
They are now useless for anything except ratting. What has replaced them is titan blobs.
Recently in the CSM Discussion (CSM WHO I DO NOT BELIVE REPRESENT THE BEST INTRESTS OF EVE) have come up with the idea of further nerfing supers.
This would be a stupid idea. Currently Titans need a nerf as they are overpowered and supers need a buff not another nerf taking away there imunity to EWAR would be tragic(It's bad enought that there useless already). It's bad enough that a single HIC has the ability to solo a super let alone have a falcon able to do the same job.
All of the current wave of nerfs do not tackle the real issue with these types of ships and that is blob warfare. Until this issue is resolved every capital in game is going to be hit with the nerf bat. as a player that loves to fly capitals i think this is a travisty.
CCP Need to stop listening the CSM who only seem to be in it for there own gain and listen to the players that play the game.

The only way to keep things in line and prevent extensive usage of ships is to make them less and less desirable the more powerful they become. Be it vulnerability to subcaps, lack of practical application or whatever. People will get them anyway as cost doesn't matter anymore in today's Eve. Just a while ago averybody and their mother used them and hotdropped Drakes, was that better than what we have now? |

1. Gradually nerf supers to the point of complete uselessness.
2. Alter CSAAs to function as titan reprocessors.
3. Remove Supers from the game and gradually refund everyone's skillpoints to correct for the horrendous mistake that was made in introducing them in the first place because CCP assumed that they would be rare
Worried about the market having 1000 titans worth of minerals dumped on it? It may be painful, but maybe not so painful if CCP ban all mining bots around the same time! WHAT A MASTERSTROKE!

Oh boy.
Show me where a single HIC has soloed a supercarrier. Hint: it doesn't happen.
If you fly around in a faction battleship, a single Rifter can keep you tackled if he manages to keep transversal on you while his friends burn across space to murder you. That's how EVE is - even a Rifter can be dangerous. Supercapitals should not be an exception to that rule. |

Hint: They lost sub capital drone support, that means they need a fleet to watch their back. Thats a big ouch when facing superior numbers of smaller ships while solo in a cap ship, but if you bring titans in a blob plus it has support and its defeating your fleet of smaller ships its fine as is because OMG THEY ARE WORKING AS A TEAM! People working together in an MMO, who the funk would of though of something so stupid . Now instead of sub cap blob vs a single titan, its sub cap blob vs multiple titan blob and the titans should be kicking your ass because you failed to bring something of equal value (aka, many sub cap ships defeat a single titan BUT many titans should stop many sub cap ships). |

Why would you take a super when a moros put out 4 times the damage. Has better survivability and can kill sub caps.
Im not on about solo, supers are useless in gangs. and are so underpowered it's crazy.
There DPS is poor, they have no role currently
If you take away there Imunity to ewar and whats the point really?
im might aswell take a carrier or dread.
There has NEVER been an issue with solo supers the issue is big blobs of them. Wich has been replaced by titan blobs. |

Supercarriers excel at their role, which is the repeated application of bomber dps on the anal cavities of other capital ships and structures. That is what they are designed to do. Tracking titans are still looking for a bit of a nerf, they're supposed to be able to aggressively violate capitals and structures with the zeal of a supercarrier with the additional hitponts their 50 billion isk pricetag suggests.
A siege'd dread will NEVER put out more DPS than a proper supercarrier. EVER. Regards,

If you can make a moros do 19k dps, you are hacking. A properly fit moros can maybe hit 9.5K dps whilst sieged, and overheating. Overheating will give you 5 or so minutes of shooting, siege cycle is 10.
Now, whilst sieged, a dread cannot move, cannot jump, and really can't hit the broadside of a barn, so if a little interceptor decides to latch onto you, not a whole lot you can do. Supercarriers can put out 9-10k dps, still be aligned out, and are immune to anything but bubbles. Supers cannot be jammed, they cannot be tracking disrupted, they cannot be webbed.
They are a hell of a warhorse when taking down structures and capital fleets. You sir, are trolling. Regards,

Delete all supercaps and refund the owners the minerals or isk and sp. Also a t2 fit moros can do ~10.5k dps with faction ammo (assuming it stays in antimatter range) and decent skills and siege timer is 5mins now. You can nearly reach 19k dps with all v skills, faction/named mods, 6% implants at which point you could probably buy a 2nd moros. |

"But that'll crash the market for implants-" GOOD! Christ I'm sick of people having to stay docked and not going out to play and try to enjoy this damn game because they're scared of losing a head full of these stupid things, I just want to pod them just so they can be done with them and go have some fun. Fucks sake! And I'm tired of people who choose not to PvP having an advantage when it comes to skill training, along with their zero-risk empire money fountains. |

Some super carriers are definitely more useful than others, although all are pretty good at structure grinding.
Aeons still have close to 50 million eHP going into a real fight, with an Erebus as FC and the right armor gang links active. In a battle, they function like giant Guardians that can do 8,000 dps (to capitals) in addition to repping.
Nyxes, while probably not as awesome as the aeon, can still function in the same way, but have a lot less tank and are restricted on the range of their cap transfers (if they use them), but you get an extra 2,000 dps.
Wyverns and Hels are going to suck a bit less once deadspace invulns become more common, but without an implant set with similar shield bonuses as slaves give for armor, they are going to remain relatively soft targets compared to other super carriers.
Now that super carriers can't use normal drones, they aren't as great at doing EVERYTHING as they used to be, but they still fill a crucial role in any supercapital fight by being very highly tanked logistics powerhouses that also do 8,000 dps to other capitals.
Titans other than the Leviathan are currently quite good at killing support, especially if the support they are killing are properly webbed/painted/scrammed. For the most part though, they do require support to operate effectively, and they also require super carrier support in any real super capital engagement. In some ways, the capabilities of titans in it's current state makes sense, and in others it doesn't. It makes perfect sense that a well-organized group of people fielding a mixed group of titans, super carriers and support ships can operate very, very efficiently. On the other hand, it doesn't make a lot of sense that there are few or no counters to a mixed unit of titans/supers/support, other than bringing MORE titans/supers/support.
I think there is a lot of potential in the idea kicked around in the CSM minutes about giving Electronic Assault Frigates a broader role by possibly letting them effect super capitals somehow. By doing this, CCP would provide not only a working counter to supercapital blobs, but also a fairly easy to train option for younger players wanting to get into PvP to do something very, very useful in fleets while building up skill points. It's very important that CCP be very cautious if they decide to expand the role of EAFs in this way, but the current design philosophy of iteration seems to be a good fit for any such potential changes. Regular-variety Ewar probably wouldn't work either, we'd likely need new mods (possibly high slot EAF only mods) which would be directly aimed at titans and supers, with things like tracking disruption or maybe drone bandwidth reduction for supers (1 less fighter/bomber for every EAF using that module on the super). |
