Have a corpmate who draws aggro from about 99% of the ships we fight on missions.
About the only time he doesn't draw aggro is on someone else's mission when they fly in first and draw aggro or when ships aggro for being fired on. On missions where ships come in waves or if we warp into a pocket at the same time we can count on everything locking on him.
It doesn't seem to matter if we are all flying the same ship or different ships. He can be the nearest to the targets or farthest away (+50km or more, even when somebody else is right next to the targets and their weapons can't damage him due to the range). He isn't the most skilled or least skilled person on the missions if that matters, and he doesn't use electronic warfare.
Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this or knows why it happens?
Thanks

Maybe although it might sound silly he has a name that when npc's start targetting after sorting out potential targets is first alphabeticly? Otherwise perhaps missions are hotwired to only give aggression to mission 'owner' or on aggression?
There will likely be an logical explanenation for it somewhat like that anyway.

I suffer from exactly the same thing.
but in all earnesty, I simply try to use it to the best advantage of me and the people I mission with. I just make sure my tank can take it.

I've spotted this pattern as well - I think it may be related to either a) Your security rating b) Your standing towards the faction you are fighting.
Again Im not sure which rule that applies, or both - but theres a pattern somewhere.

I suffer from it too, even if it isn't my mission as someone suggested.
i also get all the aggro from entire stages, not just parts as it should be --sig-- Knowledge is power! |

Try comparing your sig radius to your gangmates. Someone in our gang was getting aggro from spawns more often than anyone else and he just happened to have the largest sig radius.
Probably not the sole factor, but it may contribute. |
