Edited by: Greyfen on 08/09/2007 18:24:25 I can't login to my character, I am stuck in jita.
It took me almost an hour to jump into jita and I could not load anything, now I cannot login.
I have two chars in there, what do I do?

Write a petition to GMs via this forum under "stuck characters". Never leave your characters in Jita. Never go there on weekend around 18:00 to 23:00 GMT or one hour before downtime.

Yeah, really you just have to try and avoid Jita. It's a pain, but there's sod all CCP can do about it. If they upgrade the hardware, more people just cram in.

I had the same problem. I jumped in and then got booted off and could not seem to log in. I waited awhile and starting to click the screen and move my mouse (as if to move the camera) and after a bit of that with some luck I managed to fight through the lag and GTF out of there.

And note that downtime often doesn't last an entire hour. Sometimes it only lasts 30 or 45 minutes, so try logging on before the downtime is officially over.

I never log in or out in Jita, but I have yet to *ever* experience more than 30-60 secs of loading when entering it, even on primetime and with 800 pilots in the system. What the hell is going on with some people's systems?

Well it all depends, I can usually get around in there too, but once I ended up being stuck and forced to petition to get out, was on a major patch day, where everyone including me was cashing in on changes.
More free advise: PATIENCE, dont relog at the first sign of trouble, press dock, and accept it may take a minute or two two actually dock, most of the time it will eventually get around to servicing you.

- When you have business in Jita, open the map and use Statistics->Players in the last 30 minutes. If this number is far over 800 people, avoid going there. That's the point where the system becomes increasinly unreliable.
- Train Procurement 2 and Marketing 2. This will allow you to create buy and sell orders for any station in the region you are in that is within 5 jumps from your current location. This means that you can buy or sell stuff from a neighbouring system like Perimeter, and only need to enter Jita itself to pick up or drop off goods. And even that can be worked around if you also train Contracting 1 and make 1 jump courier contracts to get your stuff to or from Jita itself.
- Avoid mission agents in this system. Often there will be better agents for the corps in question in other systems, and the LP store gives no reason not to switch to a better agent as soon as one becomes available (except maybe proximity or pressence in low sec). Jita is a great market hub, but the place is far too crowded for anything else.
Keep these things in mind and you'll deal with Jita a lot easier. Enough to make waiting for the stuck petitions to be resolved a bit more bearable at least. |
