Hmmm, I sold medium AM for 1k when it was new. So I don't really know why the OP is complaining ;) Pricess fell quite hard quite fast

For most things in eve it is possible to "make" your own. In the case of faction ammo through the lp store.
One thing to remember, no-one HAS to sell something on the market. And also they can sell it for whatever they like.
Likewise buyers don't have to accept sellers price, they can put up a buy order or get on with "making" what they want.
Whether any of these orders (buy and sell) gets accepted depends on other players situations and needs.
As with the real world, can't afford it then save up or go without/get something else. Or of course increase income :)

thats only 500k isk for 1000 rounds. Thats absolutely peanuts compared to the ship setups it will be used in.
If you don't think its worth it, use normal rounds or make the LP yourself to spend on it.

Thats pretty cheap.
I sell caldari scourge for 2,500 a pop. Something like 5000%.
Most people use their LPs for other things.
Others that buy faction ammo use it themselves, its much cheaper that way.
I buy faction ammo and sell it to pvpers.
They're 15% more dps over standard ammo. How much are you willing to spend on that?
If you're buying from me, 5000%.

I just stuck 35,000 assorted caldari faction heavy missiles on the market, the lowest at 1800 the highest 2200. This was just before the server went down, timestamp roughly 2 hours ago. There are currently 4508 left to sell so the price is not too high for those who want them. If you don't want to pay it then use regular ammo.
Edit: Make that 1800 while I was typing this.

5000x CN-scourge cost 3 mil ISK plus 3k LP plus 5000 normal Scourge (let's say at a cheap 30 ISK per piece).
The absolute bare MINIMUM value of 1 LP you should ever think of charging is 1000 ISK. Anything lower and you have a bad deal.
So the batch price becomes 6.15 mil ISK the very least, for a 1230 ISK per unit pricetag.
You are selling at slightly over 100% markup. NOT 5000% markup.
Oh, sure, 5000% compared to T1, right, but not compared to your costs.
What you're actually selling is your LPs.
And at 2500 per unit sales price, you are selling them at slightly over 3.5k ISK per LP.
Why there's a shortage of faction ammo on the market, I'll never understand.
I suppose idiots prefer to cash in at around (actually under) 1k/LP in implants, or worse, say CNRs.
