One of my Ghost Fleet Pilots was frozen for almost 2 minutes while the enemy continued to pound him at the gate 
Even wierder my ship came out of warp jumped the same gate then I crashed to desktop....
What is going on?

Per www.eveonlinempire.com there were approximately 155,000 active players (not accounts and excluding the 20,000 so odd trial accounts) in 2006 . . . I'd have to assume about the same number now . . .
So . . .
155,000 players X $14.95 per month X 12 months . . . . . (drum roll please) . . . is $ 27,807,000.00 per year . . .

only so many times you can tell the public database issues before the truth outs itself. i used to work as a Techie i know how to con people into believing its something else. my MD use to always say not databse issues again , we paid for that last month, all the time its a Chinese hacker trying to flood the server to gain entry.

*sigh* this is freaking pathetic, all you noobs can do is whine, to those of you who were engaged in combat when the server crasher you have a right to whine, to those who are whining for the sake of whining, GET OVER IT YOU STUPID NOOBS!!! I play on alot of major games, this hapens whenever a server crashes, but your skills will still train and you stuff will be there when the servers come back, (to those who were engaged in combat at time of crash none of this is directed at you) all i want to see is people excepting that the server is down, CCP trys as hard as they can, give them some credit, they host thirty THOUSAND+ players at a time, what do you think hapens when two noobs are doing ******** things and spike the server, not everything is CCPs fault, most of it is because of the sheir load on the servers, we take eve for granted, and if its down its down, go read a book,check the forums, read a book, play a diferent game, spend time with your famelia or your frends, but dont sit around and spam the forums with useless whines.. /end-rant-mode now get on with your lifes and go out and get off your PCs...

Once upon a time i thought like you, now i strongly believe CCP dont have a clue how to fix their issues, right now the microsoft hotline is being hammered by CCP tech's trying to get to the route of the issue, Ask a MS Cs rep you will see im right. all very nice but if the people that run the server on a daily basis cant figure out whats gone wrong, how is MS going to? as for whine. if you paid for something in a store and got told to STFU or similar i think you would be a little miffed?

Yes we take "EvE for granted" because we pay for it idiot.
I also don't see the relevance of distinguishing whines between players in combat from all those doing something else. Everyone went down and everyone's service was interrupted.......again.

Oh such sadness in this thread. I'm sure it could be worse. Let me take this comment slot to say "thanks" to the Eve devs, whose work we all enjoy far in excess of the $15/month or whatever that we actually pay. Not that I'm not spamming the Connect button as we speak, hoping this time it'll work ;) , but as I do, I'm not cursing the developers! Rather, I'm thinking how lucky I am to get to play in such a nifty playground.

Haha ok Evasive Maneuvering V finished today, and the server went down between that and me switching to Inty I... Inty II just finished and I can't log in due to server issues... I'm not having a good day. Both times the servers gone down I've been between skills
However unlike some of you I have some perspective. It's a game, and one that I don't actually have to be logged in to for my skills to train. So suck it up or giev stuff tia

I'm sure CCP will reimburse any ships lost in Combat, Rat hunting or Missions due to this severe server lockup and crash.
I'm also sure they will not use the "Logs don't show anything " excuse because the logs are probably not there!
Here's hoping CCP will do the right thing as they usually do!

scorpy.. Family is like corpmates that get in your way when you have to run to take a leak. Other game is running missions if you normally pvp, or doing courier missions if your normally mine or something like that. A book is normally part of a mining ship interface, it helps the pilot stay distracted during the time between mining cycles on a hulk.

Strategic node crash in catch ftw. server up, 20 BoB, server down, server up 120 BoB. As much as id LIKE to think this isnt suspicious, it really is. And it keeps happening.
Taking into account past events it does sound kinda fishy....but then CCP has still not gotten back to us on the further changes to prevent volunteers from leaking personal information as Kieron promised us in his own thread almost 3 months ago.....
I wish they'd just figure out what the problem with the database is and fix it. Seems like if they need to take it offline to do that they should even if it means no eve for a couple of days.

If CCP just made SOME attempt at customer service I could live with the crashes...you know cause you know you'd come through the crash OK. But this is extremely poor customer service.

its the same ol stuff, things never change, and i dont see it ever changing, it will get fixed and the constant issues will be just 'be put up with'. We are tied into this game and CCP know it, you leave then youve wasted months, years of training and gameplay, chances are you wont leave. CCP get complacent, for every 1 that leaves 10 startup. Sad but true.

I just think all these server crashes are sad.
Back in early 2005 I left EVE for a number of reasons. One of them being that there was a lot of server downtime. It isn't any better now, though the game is a lot better.
I've been back for a couple of months. The game is worlds ahead of where it was.
Server stability is worse than it was. I hate that.
I wish it would just get resolved already. Because contrary to various fanboi statements, other MMO's have a better stability record (Over 50%) and larger player bases.
I can't say that this is CCP's fault however. Having been an ISP for the last 7 years I have personally experienced trying to get support for commercial software that was never designed to scale to the insane size of the CCP cluster.
I just hope this gets worked out.

I'm a pretty new player, and only have a collection of cruisers, but I can't imagine the frustration and annoyance of losing a battleship--which, unless I'm reading the markets wrong, cost more than my cruiser fleet combined--to server instability. I've heard over and over that Eve GMs won't reimburse ships lost under these conditions, yet these conditions are anything but rare (I've experienced server crashes at least eight or nine times in the couple of months that I've been playing).
Is it really that bad, or is this just sort of "forum venting exaggeration"? If I were to lose a battleship because of a server crash, and were to be set back several months? of game play because of it, I would likely quit. Grinding and treadmills are an inevitability in any MMO, I suppose, but I don't have the time or the desire to grind for the same rewards multiple times because of a real-world hardware problem.

If you lose a ship directly as a result of a server crash, I'm pretty sure it's be replaced immediately. Also, you need to keep EVE's first rule in hand here: Don't ever fly what you can't afford to lose.

I don't know if this has anything to do with it but at the time of the crash I was creating a corp and hit the search button for ticker, after that nothing.
I'm not an expert or anything but comparing corp tickers must be one big and demanding query on the database considering the number of existing corporations.
