This really strange, I am not sure of thy are new players or not but seriously come on, this whole ôFIX teh SERVORS OR I CANCEL ACCOUNTö thing with EVE is starting to get annoying.
For me I am just glad that if I hit warp I donÆt crash, you should have been in beta to appreciate how much the game has come alongàsheesh. And so far no one is providing solutions, no real argument. If you cant Handel it go away please.
To help you understand EVE, look at it this way, EVE is like the concord, or the X projects, yeah thy had a lot of bugs and problems, many crashed and many did not take off, but thy are revolutionary people who supported them stuck with the crazy project all the way. And those are the tools that made it in history. Not the easy stuff.
I am just glad that I donÆt get the old skull errors, I am just glad that I can have 30V30 fights with no lagg, thy worked around it before and thy will once more so cut them some slack or go fix it your self.
CCP you made what no one dares to think about for that I salute you.Know always that some people still got your back.

Hmmm although I agree in some crazy context. You have got to remember people are paying real money for a game. And for some people the sub fee is alot of money to pay per month. And the constant problems do begin to grind. Ive been in Head Of Development role for sometime, and If our software had so may bugs and hardware failed so much our customers would go elsewhere. The problem is people invest so much TIME and MONEY in this game that there is no other alternative until Infinity comes out. So in my opinion they have every right to complain. CCP have around what 200,000 subs perhaps thats over ú2 million a month, im sure with that income they could sort out the hardware and bugs a bit quicker. I wish I had that budget.
So before you start flaming think about what other people are thinking and how much time and money they spend on this game.
I cant believe people are happy that they can warp without crashing, or fight in a gang without lag, it shouldnt happen anyway. If more people did actually leave or stay away then perhaps CCP would sit up and do something about it. What annoying is that CCP offer no extra time, no freebies when things do go wrong, a gesture would go a long way.
Of course every software has bugs, hardware goes down, but there should always be contingency, wheres the fail over system in cases like this? Surely CCP must have a backup system that is mirrored from live, they can switch over too?
Anyway I digress if your happy to pay for a system that i flaky then good for you but dont flame people who do complain cos they have every damn right to.
Personally ive got used to it, no matter how much you moan or complain CCP just take their time anyway. Had server issues for years now.

The only thing that bothers me more than people who constantly bash a game are the people who constantly support it. Really, think about it. Don't just tell em it could be worse. If something's bad it's bad, no matter how much worse it could be. It's still bad. You lost an arm in the war? Well STFU I know a guy that lost 2 arms and his manhood, now quit complaining and keep paying to deal with something you don't want to
The question is, do you think it's worth your 15 bucks a month per account? Those people obviously didn't. I'm at the point where frankly I don't either, fleet fight lag is atrocious and we're still on a 5 year old client that my computer struggles to run with more than 150 on the field. The overview is bugged constantly, the igb can barely render nested tables without freezing up the whole damn thing. Pos/dictor/anchorable bubbles are graphically laggy as **** and can't be disabled. Missiles too. And don't even get me started on the graphical lag I get with 70+ wrecks in those fights
Reimbursement is a joke. Some people blatantly lie on petitions and get their ships back. Some people don't and don't, when something DID go wrong. I myself am struggling with a desync loss in a petition. Frankly I don't feel the need to put up with this ****, and it's the reason I myself am canceling. Nothing ****es me off like poor customer service. So Rev 3 and the new engine comes out in november? Maybe I will too. Maybe the people that complained about the game's bugginess will too.
Don't shame people with your own naivety. This game has problems. If you fail to see them it's on your own shortcomings, not theirs. And cut them some slack? We're all cutting them some slack. 15 bucks of it, every month.
The game is fantastic, don't get me wrong. PVP in this game is unlike anything any other game has to offer. Fleet battles, when playable, are amazing. But they aren't playable anymore. The servers crash regularly. I mean yeah the devs post on the forums and they communicate, but actual customer support is poor at best. It seems reimbursement is a dice roll these days and has little to do with whether you actually died to a bug or not. If it's a client-side bug and you can't prove it, it's still their fault the bug can even exist in the first place. It's still their fault you lost a ship.
So why do people threaten to cancel if it isn't fixed? Because they don't want to pay to have a poor gaming experience. Let them play for free and they probably would. It's not fun paying to die to bugs and getting told to F off.
And if you're going to tell me other games have it worse, I'm going to tell you I'm not paying them either

I'm sorry, man, but I agree with Haff. CCP has had YEARS to get it right. These aren't new issues, this isn't something that should be difficult for them. Haff's points are all on the ball. CCP shouldn't be offering the ability to have these truly massively multiplayer experiences if each time it's attempted, it ends in massively mangled mania. Yes, it's in any services Agreement terms, no guarantees of operability, but this is getting rediculous.

Well, then it's rather disturbing that you've learned to spell all the other words quite well, use better than average grammar (even for someone with English as a first language), yet you can't spell "they".
It looks more like you're trying to use some stupid internet shorthand. ---

There is a margin of acceptability. I took everything I listed in stride, until a GM decided not to reimburse something I lost to desync. That was the last straw. It's the last straw for a lot of people. The game is great. It has bugs. This is inevitable. But we're still dealing with bugs that have existed and been reported since release. For example, tactical shield manipulation. A requirement to level V for capital shield boosters. And literally ineffective at level V. It had been this way since it was put in the game. And when was it fixed? Last ******* patch.
Issues like lag in Jita is literally inevitable. Either you whine because you can't get in, or you whine because there's lag. There will ALWAYS be lag in commerce hubs. But CCP still hasn't created a decent route around it? The same goes for Amarr. Players bring more and more numbers to fights, this is also inevitable. But why the HELL can't I disable wreck/corpse/drone/can graphics? That's where most of the lag comes from in the first place. We can disable turrets, but not tone down bubble graphics? And missiles are there to stay regardless.
It has nothing to do with respect. I respect CCP plenty. I respect the devs plenty. Lots of the issues we have are unavoidable because they can't think of everything. And if they did think of all these bugs, there would have been more they hadn't. We have hotfixes and patches to take care of unforeseen issues. These are small bugs, like since the last patch we can't drag/link from assets window.. But something like desync is anything but a "small bug". It causes losses, and when it happens you have no control of whether you get your ship back or not. You just get told their logs show nothing, or their logs show there was an issue. It's always the same symptoms, and in plenty of fights I've been in and MC has been in some are reimbursed and others aren't.
How would I feel if people mocked my work? How would I FEEL? This isn't about how CCP FEELS, this is about the customer FEELS. How do you think it FEELS to get ripped off? How do you think it FEELS to lose something at no fault of your own to a bug, and told their logs show nothing? And somebody else gets told their logs showed an issue? Always with the same cut/paste responses too. CCP gains the right to talk about how it FEELS when it starts paying ME to put up with this crap.
Review time. Bugs? Fine. Stupid players? Fine. Bad customer support? I can deal with it. But all of it together? They had their slack. Like I said, the lacking of others is no standard to live by. This is true in life and it's true in creating games.

ItÆs the conflict of my main language ôArabicö with English since Arabic is spelled as spoken, while English is not, Arabic grammar is more complicated than English, but at the same time quite similar, therefore its easy on that part. Some times it just gets mixed up.
Haff, If thatÆs what your thinking then the post is not aimed for you, some are quite disrespectful, and I believe that if there is something wrong it should be fixed, and you as a paying customer have the right to do so, but some people take it too far and thatÆs what I am aiming at.

Yes im going to add my two pence worth as well on this.
Everytime i have used the argument 'im paying for this game' i get shot down and flamed by the first 50 responses to my post and now i am so glad i have found a post that for 90% of it is flaming CCP. About damn time. I would not like to tot up the amount of money i have lost due to drones not doing what they are told, lag, reimbursemnts and so on ans so forth. I am one step away from quitting this game and i think that when SGW comes out that will be when i do. Why should i pay ú10 a month for a game that still has the same damn bugs it did 2 years ago? And dont telol me to go play something else, i enjoy the game and the community i really do, but for ****s sake sort out the damn problems will you?!
On the 28th of August i filed a petition about a Control Tower that went missing from my hangar. Have i heard anything back apart form that generic 'We have had a lot of petitions' that everyone got...no i havnt and 100m is a lot for me to lose.
I say this again as i have in many posts....come on CCP sort it out, otherwise your gonna lose more and more players.....Oh and to the OP, im sorry mate but could you be anymore up thier ass? Or do you wanna be a forum mod or something? Oh CCP i got ya back homey, i love you so much, oh take me for ur wife!....lol sorry dude but come on, you sound like a teenage girl in love with a pop star lmao.

Ok first learn the difference between offered and afford. Second you are the one whining about how we should all stop caning CCP. Thirdly I didnt lose my POS, it disappeared from my hangar. Also SGW is Star Gate Worlds, which im hoping will be a damn sight better than this. Ok love?

Every time the "servers" have been fixed, the player numbers have increased thereby creating the same problems of lag and crashes, just with larger numbers of people.
Subscription too much for a "flaky" service? bugger off then and the rest of us can enjoy the consequences of your absence.
Even with random crashes and DT, EVE is still far better than the rest of the crud out there.

Edited by: Damian Vilsalant on 11/09/2007 09:42:20 I' sorry but at least from me CCP has gotten all the "slack" I'm willing to muster.
If we were like 6 months in from the initial release or in late beta then I'd be all fine and dandy with giving some extra slack and ignoring the terrible lag/desync, bugs and general unresponsiveness of the client but this game has been "running" (or better has been payed for) for more then four years. How long does it take to get the finger out and fix the game..??
And in the meantime I want reimbursements for all ships and items that were lost due to bugs/desync plus maybe a day of free game time for every hour I can't login to TQ (outside of DT ofc.)
That way if CCP ****** up once again and the server is down for a while then at least we know that they'll have to pay - by giving us game time. That way the management of CCP will notice that they are loosing massive amounts of money and will start putting pressure on the people that are to blame for the problems. And then we may actually see some action and not just talk.
No you can't have my stuff, yes this is my main. |

wow, this is a subject close to my heart which i just have to comment on,
first up, paying for the game, i have no problem with paying for the game even with the downsides, i can go to the shops and pick up a brand new pc game for say 40quid and get it home and it be so full of bugs its like i got my own little farm of the buggers! (silent hunter 4 anyone?) i love playing this game and enjoy the variety and diversity as to how you want to play, nothing out there quite comes to the same. second server issue's, i have been victim to so many server issues that its a joke but you know what......all bar one have been in empire, i spent nealry 6 months down in 0.0 with some good guys and they only time i experienced any lag was when we had a titan, 3 motherships and a full on cap fleet appear in our system (thanks for that bob) so when the server is not stressed then the software does work. but the game is getting more and more stressed you say.....of course it is!! i dont hear bad things said about it in any of the mags i read, they all comment about what a wonderful and complex gaming experince this is and all from a game over 4 years old!!
in my honest opionion the route of all theese problems is the heart of all pc game problems, nealry everyone of us is running a different set-up of machine, the servers and programers dont just have to write a code that is stable and bug free for say a amd 64 3800, 7600gtx, and 2gb ram (not the bets but works for me) but they have to accomodate the thousands of diff set-ups aorund the globe and the different drivers and what not they require. bugs will always exist the question really should be are they doing enough to sort it out....well yes! the new engine should solve a lot of the current bugs but will develope more i am sure, but i belive it will be a hell of a lot better than the game running on a engine that is now approaching a decade old!!
so you dont think this is fair?? dont pay!! you can make enough isk in game to buy gtc without putting your own money in if you want. you want re-embursement...this i can agree with, my broadband goes down i phone them up and get a credit for the time its down.....perhaps ccp can do the same you want it bug free......hell i want to marry jessica alba and make love to her for eternmity but i dont ask for the impossible!!! wake up and welcome to world of pc gaming girls, you want bug free never evolving games......go buy a console!
