That's a great idea. Hopefully CCP will read this thread, and take notice.

Methinks being able to change skills from the eve-o web page would work better

Brilliant! That is the least we can demand. Even better would be a one skill queue system, although this has been raised many times before.

As much as this looks like a good thing, it would lead to 3rd party account-farming tools. I have to plan my skills around DT, work and bedtime and it can be a pain especially with lower skills. Still the advantadge of keeping bots away outweighs the pain.
Other than choosing a skill, it might even pick a random partially trained skill and work that one.

Edited by: Sannye on 11/09/2007 19:08:37 Since i started playing EVE, it's been more and more unstable - server crashes is not a monthly event, its practially every day.
My reallife friends started playing EVE with me, but.. they ran away screaming after the latest string of server crashes.
At least that skill (given for FREE at level 5) would compensate for the skillpoints. How to compensate for our time lost is a compleatly different matter - but my patience is really running low...

Since the servers crash too often, it WILL be exploitable.

200 seconds to restart, and the true server testing begins as 30k players log on.

Originally by: shaiDorsai Next, since we are unfortunately penalized for training short skills while playing (what with all crashes and everything), how about having an 'emergency crash skill'.
The idea is whenever server crashes and restarts, after it calculated how much time one lost in the DT, to put a proper amount of that time in SP of the Emergency Crash Skill (or whatever you want to call it).

The ironic part is that timer note:
Status ok (checked 54 minutes ago) 20k players.....

Seems like quite some people have been annoyed (>o_o) Such a feature might be nice, I guess, for those that really wants "completeness" or feel the need to be compensated. They do have the right, sure. On the other hand it seems a bit "trollish" (the way how some reply or demand). A few dollars/euros isn't much, but then a "dollar/euro" isn't always easily earned...
Personally, I haven't been playing very much for the past 3 months (due to business/work) and on quite some weeks I have only used averagely 1 to 20 hours of training time (only did a short skill and wasn't near a puter for a long time).
Still, I would support such a feature... /sign

I don't know about the others, but in my case it's not the money or the completeness, it's game play planning.
I train short skills when I play, and long skills when I don't play.
I don't plan up to the last bit, but I have a general idea that, when I sit this weekend to play, I will have short skills X and Y and long skill Z so I can have my fun then.
Not training skill X today, means that I have to train it next time when I sit down to play, and if I wanted to try out some things in industry or science, my plans are off by a week or whenever I sit to play again.

I would agree, were it not that eve-o is down and/or flawky just as much as the game cluster.

New Skill? Nah, my skill training continues whatever the status of the server. Gimme like ... 100 Mil ISK for each time the server crashes. Now THAT's compensation Rawr

Hehe, I'd go for SP, you can use that long term :)
