As somebody who has managed to set a 9 minute skill JUST before the server crash, and somebody who works and can therefore not stay up all night waiting for the server to get back up and therefore being somebody who loses close to a days worth of training, I fully endorse this thread.

Here here! I completely agree. When you have about 2hrs of game time in a night and over half is lost to a server restart or in this case, replacing hardware, makes you wonder about spending the $$ for it. Add a compensation if you were online at the time of the crash, not an 'everyone gets a free skill level' cause the server crashed. The way it's been lately everyone would have their skill books maxed out, including the free 14 day trials.

Also I would like to see missions Bonus time reset once the servers get back online.

I know this whole server business is unpredictable and that CCP isn't necessarily at fault. However, since they are IN the business of running said unpredictable servers, they should at least take their server crashes into account and give us some sort of compensation. I like this "emergency crash skill" idea...

I have lost so much time in the past day due to crashes. 3 times now it has crashed when I only had 3-4 min left on a skill, literally. 3 times! I know that servers have issues, I don't mind that. But losing all that skill training time? That is a bit bothersome.

Though I have learned that approaching patch day, set a long term skill up and don't train short term skills.
I've got a multi-day skill in training now so I've been good with that regard.
What I don't enjoy is that the few hours a week I get to sit down any play Eve seem to be the ones in which Eve has crashed yet again.

They just need to make skill changing during crashes possible through this web site. Problem solved. They certainly need to add this functionality if the server is going to be down every two hours for 1-2 hours.

as if it really matters if you loose out on 1 hour of skill training, its not worth the time it took for me to write this reply, but meh the servers down right now so ive done it

It matters more if you planned on changing a skill and sleeping....also this is the 3rd or 4th crash today, that addds up to more than an hour. Last crash it took 2 hours to get it back up.

If the server has crashed then you will not be able to change skills via the web site as the server has crashed
a skill queue on the other hand ...

I can't believe people whine about these crashes in terms of SP, I mean seriously. How fast do you train? I train about 2k SP per hour... OMFG! TWO THOUSAND SP GONE HOLY BALLS ON A STICK WORLD ENDING OMFG!

ok, this might seem kinda obvious
how about a Que. We have them for Labs, production facilities. of course the Que should be manageable. so when this skill gets finished another one starts.

I really like the idea. 3rd server crash in as many days (that I have experienced), this would be a good way to curb customer frustration.

A good idea too, but with a maximum of one skill in query.

Be it a queue or an "emergency skill", it would be at least decent to implement something to avoid skill time losses... To be honest the "mission time bonus" proposal would be nice too (while I'm waiting the server to restart now I have an open WC lvl4 mission, and I started it yesterday evening...) but if there would be some priority in this I would value skill time more than mission bonuses.
