It might be a cool idea if the Overwiew was tabbed like the Chat box. This way a player could have his salvage overview on one tab and sepcific minerals in an asteroid belt in another tab for instance.

this is probably the best idea ive heard yet, as many people have between 7 to 10 different overview presets, not including the two defaults.

Very nice idea.. The overview currently is a bit cumbersome, and the ability to just click a tab to change setups vice the overview settings screen, would be great. Also, it would be nice if your overview preferences weren't saved locally anymore. A real pain for people who play from different computers, that have to recreate overview settings.

Yes, I agree that the settings shouldn't be saved locally. I dislike having to reset my settings every time I (re)install the client.

and an extra window for drones & gang/fleet ...
when ive some wings + i'm sitting in my carrier the overview is definitly too small!
and i play with 1980x1600 ... what makes a 1024x768?!?

interesting idea, but it would have to be implemented extremely carefully. First of all I don't think having tabs for all of your overview configurations on at once would be a good idea because I have around 10 different ones. Second of all, you'd have to make sure that only the active one loaded its contents into memory because if all 10 of those loaded their contents when I warped into a fleet battle, my computer would be toast.
