I have trouble with doing lvl 4 missions. I think its my setup so i need some help. High slot: 4 mega beam laser T2 2 mega anode beam laser (for cruisers and frig) Heavy nosf T2 Med slot: Cap recharger T2 Sensor booster T2 Webber named Low slot: 2 Cap flux T2 Large armor rep. T2 1600 cryst. plate Heat sink T2 3 nanomembrane T2
If its not my setup i need some help on how to take these missions without running out of cap to fast. Im not doing that great damage either, even if i got T2 guns with scorch. My skills are good with 10M gunnerypoints, aswell as electronics, engineering etc. Also i use armor rigs. Im planning to use a Abaddon cuz im atm using a Geddon that seems to weak to do lvl4 mission with. Can anyone help me or give me a tip?

I would drop the sensor booster and webber and put in cap rechargers, also drop the cap flux's and put in cap power relays.
that should give you a reasonable recharge rate, if its still too low then drop the armor plate and or heat sink and put in more cap power relays.
Using amarr ships in level 4's takes a long time, so you have to be able to tank for ages, your tanks more important than damage.

Watch out children, this happens when you buy your char on Ebay!
Maybe if you had trained those skills yourself, you would know how to put them to some use...

With 10 mil in gunnery you are not a n00b. Or should not be. Or whatever. You DO know that buying chars on ebay is illegal?
Real n00bs get help here, its just people like you who use RL money as substitute for brains or time (usually both) that get dissed, and rightfully so.

There is 'search' button up left. I dont fly amarr ships myself in lev 4 missions so can't give you detailed info about it, but usually abaddon is considered better mission running ship for amarr. At least against blood raiders and drones.
Would reccomend searching 'abbadon lev 4 setup' and read thru what comes up.

Thanks for those who gave me serious replies, and for those who didn't i only can say that this was clearly a mistake, i haven't bought my car. on e-bay, i have played eve for almost 3 years now and for your eyes i am a noob. I dont play Eve that much and i only wanted a suggestion for a setup and ship for Lvl4 missions. Maybe my question got misunderstood... i dont know. I read about a topic "first time lvl4 mission" a guy who played for 2 years and had the same problem as me. He got serious replies and some good tip, i think i will follow some of those. And one other thing, embarressing is only the **** comments some of you guys are making. A forum is a forum for me even if you have played Eve for 2 months or 10 years regardless of the question, make a serious comment or dont make any at all.

The big difference is that the other guy is a n00b to missions, not a n00b to brain useage. He had a sensible setup to base his questions off and displayed a decent level of understanding. While it is completely impossible to train up 10 mil in gunnery and know as little as you seem to without being something I must not say here.
Also if you already read the other thread adressing the same problems you have, why open another one?

Have you read what i wrote? I havent sayd i dont got ANY knowledge in what shipquip i should use, only what shipequip. i should use in lvl4, like is it whise to use stabs, should i use heat sink etc.. And i am also a mission noob on lvl4. I tryed it a year ago, had the wrong equip. and got shot down. I want to avoid this since im going to try it again. Like i sayd, my question at first was misunderstood and i also sayd it was a mistake to write my question, cuz its already a topic on it....so again sry.

So you run around, brag with your 10mil SPs in gunnery, playing for 3 years and still don't have a clue on how to fit your ship?
What do you expect people to think?
For me the facts only lead to one of the following conclusion (or maybe both). Either you've bought your char (I don't care where you bought your car though ) on Ebay or your RL learning skills are not high enough for playing EvE.
What have you done in those 3 years?
Ok, the miner's guide says that an Abaddon is great for mining... But you can't have mined all the time, accumulating those 10billion SP of yours...
My total SPs are not even close to 10mil, but I can do L4 mission solo. Without having to whine on the forums that my setup suxx. And I don't even need a T2 setup for it.
If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

You didn't even have to say it. Your setup as well as your spelling just scream "I know nothing and either bought my char on ebay or am too lazy and/or mentally challenged to think and type properly". There. I said it.
And the tolerance level for stupidity, laziness and ebaying on these forums is very low. Thank god.

Hehe yes i would ask what i have done those 3 years..lets see. I played the first year doing some pvp and mining. I did a mistake from the beginning and that was not learning my learning skills . This dragged me behind and after a while got tired of Eve. I gave my car. to a corpm8 to hold on to it. He got me up in learning and some gunnery. After a year again i came back. Now that i had the basic learning skills i continued with gunnery. I got everything on laser and long range etc. on lvl 4 and 5, but didnt think so much about other skills that is important (maybe that is the problem ). I have now done tons of lvl 3 missions and want to go a lvl higher. I got the most important skills on electronic, mechanic and engineering but maybe thats not enough. Now i still do missions and my current skill i am training is Explosive armor compensation.

As you can see, account sharing is clearly not allowed. This includes giving a friend your password to train a skill for you, even if itĘs for only one time. The reason for this is account sharing creates risk of abuse. I am sure that a great number of players have at one time shared their account details with someone without running into any problems. Not yet at least. You would probably not believe how much of our time is spent on cases where players have shared their account details in good faith only to have them stripped of ISK, items and even characters. We can not guarantee that we can reverse damage done to accounts that have been shared. I can however guarantee that players that log into other player's account and steal their assets are rewarded with a long vacation from EVE.

Edited by: Leandro Salazar on 13/09/2007 13:10:45 Okay taking your explanation at face value despite my paranoia telling me it is made up, here is the most obvious things wrong with your setup:
1. If you have 7 turret slots on a BS, fit 7 BS sized turrets. The hodgepodge setups that worked somewhat on lower level missions suck in L4s. 2. If you have 8 highslots total, use them all. Fit a heavy nosferatu into the extra slot to help with your cap. 3. Ditch the webber, it does not help on beam setups. Use fast locking to kill small ships at range (hence the SeBo does make some sense despite being unusual) and drones for those that get close. Fit a tracking comp to improve laser performance against all targets or another CR. 4. Ditch the plate. HP buffers are meaningless in lvl4s, it is all about resistance and repping. 5. Ditch the nanos and fit rat specific hardeners for better resists. 6. Ditch the cap fluxes and replace with cap power relays. 8. CCC rigs > armor rigs on laserboats. In fact, on most ships. 7. Use quickfit/EFT to make your fit before you assemble it in EVE. 8. Use an Abaddon instead and read the many threads about fitting it. 9. Try spelling like a thinking human being, not a drug-ridden teenager. It helps a lot with getting better responses.

You've played for 2 years and dont know that eve wasnt around 10 years ago? Wow.
*edit*
I dont see how you have problems with anything on level 4 with 10m sp.... I have like 3.2m sp and can run quality 0 level 4's in my drake with almost no problem. (dps can take a while though, so i get help finishing off some of the BS's instead of emptying so many missles at them. Purely to save time though)

Afaik agent quality doesn't affect mission "toughness", so why mention it here? If you're going to criticise or even berate someone, you best not make any mistakes of your own.
Anyway, I did some lvl 4's in my Myrm before I got a BS, but in retrospect it was far too slow to be worth it. Better benefit from lvl3's, imho.

Edited by: Eulogy on 13/09/2007 18:35:16 I recently started playing again and just started doing lvl4s with the following setup in a 'geddon. No problems so far.
HI 6x Mega Modulated Beam 1x Drone Augment 1x Remote armor Repair (for drones)
MID 3x Cap Recharger II
LOW 1x DMC II 1x EANM 2x specific hardner 1x CPR II 2x LAR "accomodation" 1x heat sink (I think; can't remember)
RIGS 2x CCC 1x Aux
Drones: Hammerheads - Drones for the frigs that get to close and additional DPS
I typically run both LAR only when it gets a bit to close to the hull (1/4 to 1/2 armor left)

I agree, I've noticed no difference in mission toughness due to agent quality. I have however met plenty of people that swear it does affect. Thats the only reason I included it.

In principle, I would not fit EANM, its better to fit 4 active hardners of the specific rat. That give you a higher resist (80%+) on the damage types the rats give and makes it easier to handle.
Here is a suggestion for a Geddon fit.
High: 7xDHP or DHB (Dual Heavy Pulse/Beams). Use X-ray to be even more cap efficient (well, standards now, but x-ray's have good damage). Med: Cap rechargers in all. Low: 2x Lar, 4x Hardners, more cap (perhpas a heat sink if you got enough cap).
Drones: 5x LIght and 5x Med. (And reinforcements, since you have the room).
Use the big guns to take down big ships. Fly in parallel with cruiser to take them down with big guns. Use drones (after aggro is on you) to take down frigs (scramblers first, then webbers).
Tweak this suggestion so it fits your skills. It will take time to complete a mission, but you will complete them.
Hope this helps "n00b"

Edited by: Rialtor on 14/09/2007 15:12:51 Wow you guys are brutal :P, Are you undercover agents for CCP or something? :)
Anyway to the OP: 1. Use a guide good site so you don't go into level 4 missions blind. I use Mission Site. It works well in the ingame browser, so bookmark it there.
2. Fly missions for Amarr Agents, they give you mobs that have low resists for the dmg lasers do, namely EM/Therm. Sansha, Blood, and Drones are weak to this form of dmg. And Amarr Agents give the highest rate of these missions. People say Amarr Navy gives the best % of sansha missions. Sansha is great to loot/salvage as well.
3. After you look up your mission on the guide, determine what kind of dmg they do. Only tank the dmg that's in the mission, no reason to Omnitank (tank all dmg types) when you don't have to.
4. A decent setup would be: High: 8xMegaPulse II Medium: 4xCap Recharger IIs Low: The lows change based on the mission. If the mission requires alot of tanking you might need: 2xLAR, 3-4 Hardener IIs/EANM (Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane) II,1-2 Heat Sink II. Though most missions are fine with a Single LAR Setup and 3 rat specific hardeners, a setup would be 1xLAR, 3x Hardener II, 3xHeat Sink II
Remember the Hardeners you use depends on the dmg the mobs do so check the guide each mission so you know exactly what you're getting into.
use 3xCapicator Control Circuit Rigs.
use 5xHammerhead I/II, and 5x Hobgoblin I/II for drones. These will handle the frigates you missed shooting down on the way in.
There's better setups out there, but this should get you started. Also never let your cap fall below 30%.
If you have any other questions feel free to contact me ingame, I wouldn't mind taking you on a few missions to teach you the ropes.
