nothing too worrisome if I hadn't a phobia to needles.
I'm mentally repressing the fact that I must go do it.

I can watch people getting operated on and eat my dinner (on TV that is I don't go spectate  ). I can watch the goriest films and not bat an eyelid. I can see myslelf bleeding and not worry (unless its too much)
But as soon as a needle is involved I feel queasy 
The thought of you having blood drawn tomorrow is maing me feel queasy atm

I still remember my days of grade school, the nurses joked with us that they practiced with oranges before they gave us our injections, because they needed to learn how to throw the needle like a dart. I thought I was going to **** my pants.

hehe I used to hate the rumours that went through secondary school before the immunizations.
"The needle is like 6" long and they jab you in the arm 4 times!!"
etc. etc.
Never really been bothered by needles, in the arm, it's the ones they inject in your buttocks that hurt like hell, but on a delay.

Dunno. Needles always made me nervous. A cut, sure. its fast and quick. But a needle you gotta feel its metal shaft INSIDE your skin as the blood is drawn.

Needles don't bother me, after quite a few trips to the doc for a reoccurring ingrown toe nail and blood tests, I could care less, I watch and smile while they do it. I had one doctor who like stabbed me 5 times in my right arm then 3 more in my left, oh that was fun, I laughed and told him he sucks at this

As a sufferer of Vasovagal Trypanophobia, ah man I know what its like.
I've never "liked" needles, and I eventually just learned to put up with the procedure. But then one day.. stick.. faint.. just like that. Scared the living cr4p out of the nurses (and me of course). Ever since then its happened every time unless I am laying down and inverted. I have even fainted after walking around the clinic for 15 minutes perfectly fine after the poke. I was standing up at the time - wasn't good for my head.
For me its really more of an involuntary physical response than a mental one. I feel normal until that needle plunges into my skin. Then things start going cold and numb, eye-sight goes blurry, hearing turns to static, nausea, and everything starts to smell like you snorted alcohol. Pulse rate surges and then plummets. One by one the senses turn off and then you black out. Though it only takes a few seconds it feels like forever. Horrible sensation I tell you!
Keeps me away from the drugs at least

2 weeks ago my doctor said to me, "hey you're not lookin so good, after this go to the lab for a blood test"
unwittingly, i drove there...
i signed in, the nurse politely beckoned me in, and i stopped dead in my tracks as i rounded the bend to see HUNDREDS OF JARS OF BLOOD AND NEEDLES ON A DESK 
i said i can't do this...
i started freaking out. they got me to sit down, then ended up having to get 3 nurses to restrain me.

yay, I've had a phobia of needles for a long time too, but after a never ending string of accidents and several hundred injections later they no longer bother me, only things scares me these days in dentistry.

Hey Grimpak and all you others that are afraid of needles.
You ever had local anaesthesia given to you with a needle?
I don't have any problems with needles in general but seriously, that stuff kinda isn't very pleasant.
I've had it twice, once in the hand and once in the heel.
Worst pain I've experienced would have to be toothache though.

Im having blood tests done every month, and had weekly injections as a part of a vacination program for 4-5 years.
I dont like needless, but i dont mind having a blood test taken.
