Lady Beauvoir Slutty Witches	Posted - 2007.09.14 08:11:00 - [32] I got mine too yesterday. Getting the art of EVE under retail price ftw. ;) Anyhow, it is a nice looking book. I very much enjoy the thoughts and ideas presented by the art department and really adore the original pencil sketches of the ships and races in the game. There are some very good parts in the book, such as the example of the drake where you first see the vector model, then the surfaces, then the textures, ligth effects and finally the whole ship. That said, I rather dislike the fact that there are so many TRINITY models in the book; I mean, I do like them but 24 pages of new models (and only three out of those 24 show the model with new textures) seems like filler to me. Because the book actually ends with those untextured models, I was left feeling somewhat disappointed. I still maintain that the book is rather good (esp for the price I got it for) and that the first chapters of the book are the best, but would have loved to see something else in the last chapter than just those 21 untextured models. It's so refreshing compared to megacrapcorps like SOE etc who only have canned responses ALL the time regarding anything. This is one of the reasons why I don't mind giving CCP some extra isk (oops my bad, $$) for these kinds of things. They earned it for making the best game in existence IMHO.
