Yes, any skilled pilot can escape.
Unless you get insta poped...so "in theory", as it is possible to insta pop a MS, doesn't matter how skilled you are in any ship.
Ofc thats not what happened here. You have a "special needs" pilot eating fruit from the stupid tree, putting his "im the <politically correct explitive for not normal person> today" hat on before booting up what he thinkings is asteriods, only to find he has executed the little know fail macro /warp to gate and get pwned in an invincible ship. Hey, everyone has bad days but...well, suxs to be him.

well apparently a mom ( nyx ) got killed in low sec

Think about it? What is the purpose, then, of EVER forming up to attack ANYTHING in low sec? No matter what the ship type people can always warp away if they use scouts. It's as simple as that.
However, you don't hear people whining about that because, generally, the movtive is ONLY to break-up the camp and not to kill everything at the camp!
A large enough force can remove a supercap off any low-sec gate, which means you've just defeated the ship. You may not have killed it, buy by using the tools and mechanics of the game you have successfully "countered" the Mothership.
Arguing that every ship must be killable is just stupid, because any ship in the game, if piloted by an experienced person, can/will always get away in low-sec if they so choose.
Damn I didn't realise you didn't choose to get away!
