Taikun The point we are making, yet you seem to either deny to listen or decided now'sa good time to insult us, is that just because you ment it in one way, the word can be taken as offence and as such that is why it is filtered. No argument about that, yet somehow this topic has decended into one, primarily because you are essentially insulting our intelligence. And ok, so I dont have a univeristy degree in english, but even I know common sense. the sense of the common masses is hardly what I call "good or proper sense", mostly because after being browbeaten people who weren't as petty as the common mass were subdued into becoming a part of it instead of refusing it. hard to fight against a tidal wave of stupidity.

Its the evolution of language. Goo and goop both adequately describe a thick oozing substance in most people's minds. The other word is almost exclusively an anti-racial slur these days. Had you used it in a really vanilla context (e.g discussing something in your drain?) then I'm sure it would have been fine. But you used a very well known anti-asian word to describe a bunch of people (or their actions) who are, or are predominantly believed to be, asian.

Most universities DISCOURAGE using Wikipedia for research material or linking reference, on the basis that its an open source website and anyone can claim to be an expert on whatever they're posting. You can edit every page and change even slight details that make entire research papers wrong in doing so. So to say using Wikipedia is used for research is not correct. I suppose (as I don't go to every university around the world) that some may encourage use of it, but my opinion of that is shown in the fact that it IS an open site, and data can be altered.
